This wonderful bakery is perhaps one of our most savored memories of Paris. We stayed at a large hotel just about around the corner. This also may have been the first bakery that we had been to on our twenty day visit to Paris. We went here five out of the six days that we stayed around Republic Plaza. Luckily, we had been playing with using the Metro system. When we moved to the far less expensive Rungis area we used the Metro System and weekly passes to make almost daily visit (they are closed on Sunday) to this wonderful bakery. And as you would expect (we really didn’t know more than a few words of French) the busy staff were efficient in helping us make our purchases. However as our visit became almost daily the staff seemed amused and smiled more as they recognized us. We enjoyed breads and croissants and dozens of delicious delights that we were unable to pronounce and only pointed to, leaving on each visit with four or five baked items that make my mouth water even as I write this review. The other staffer laughed but felt uncomfortable and waited on me. There are many other venues with tolerant staff that are good or better than this place.
Avoid if French is not the first language you speak.
I wish I could give zero stars, but you have to give one to...
Read moreI used to be a regular customer but sadly I won't ever buy from them again. I had lined up, entered the bakery, spent almost 5 minutes looking at their cakes and when I wanted to order, was rudely told off by one of the workers that I had "cut the line" and just started serving the person behind me. Didn't even bother to listen as I tried to explain I had been there before all of them! Luckily the people in the line had seen me and tried to help explain I had been there before them. I did not expect to be treated like a child in a bakery. Their products may be good but do not make up for the horrible,...
