In short: Beautiful place. Would come again (but there are some caveats)
Let's start with the best: atmosphere. 10/10, beautiful and very "Instagrammable". The decoration is excellent, the ambiance is top. Both the ground floor, the 1st floor and the stairs are very well decorated. The food was very good. The desserts were excellent. Loved the "Bingsu au Taro", both in taste and in looks, excellent dessert. My friends also had a "crepe roulée au Sakura" and a "mille crêpes au matcha". Tried them both and they were pretty good. We also had some bubble teas, they were good, above average in my opinion.
The queue was... Not good. We waited outside for over 1h. We had no clue how long the wait was, and we waited and waited... The people at the restaurant never mentioned an average wait time. At one moment he asked if someone wanted "to go" and they all formed a new line.
One thing that really disturbed me was the fact that there was a QR code outside, which gave us the opportunity to win a free drink/ice cream, by giving them a review in Google Maps and then playing a virtual roulette. I believe this is a sketchy way to virtually inflate the reviews at Google Maps, as this reviews were written before coming inside and ordering something. Reviews might be biased.
We spent about 1h30 inside, we had a good time and the food was good. Prices seemed a bit more expensive even for Paris, but still within a manageable range.
Would you come again? Yes I will, I want to try more of the desserts, those were my highlights. I believe this is a good café/restaurant, worth visiting but only, and only if, you see no queue on...
Read moreWe went here last week on mid-day, the place was very pretty, the ambience was really great and make us felt like in the cherryblossom's field. You can literally take pics on every corner. Because we came as a group of friends and brought our luggage with us, the waitress was a bit shocked, they talked in Chinese maybe and not welcoming us. I was standing for some minutes waiting to be seated. As the place was not quite spacious for groups, we have to seat separately. (Which is understandable)
Then the waitress came to us to take our orders. As some of us didn't think to order and only want to share the food, the waitress said every one of us must order one menu! Idk if this is normal in France, but we like to share because when on holiday, we have some places to go and want to try as much as food we can. The waitress wasn't really friendly either when they talked. as one of our friend who sit in other table change the chair direction to our table, she came to us and told my friend to go back to her table. Soooo... the rules they have made us a bit uncomfortable.
Food wise was good, we love the Taro Bingsoo and Matcha ice cream. If you love matcha and taro, you gotta come and treat yourself!
I hope the service would be better...
Read moreThe place is in a calm street next to Place de la Republique. The ambiance inside is great, calm and really cute, being all pink ~ (made for instagram posts) There’s 2 floors, I recommend sitting upstairs because there are sofa tables there and is really nicely decorated. We tried the sakura quatuor and it was really well presented, tasty and filling. The fries portion was enough to fill you as well, there’s a dipping sauce on the side (mayo + ketchup) of course and the sizes of the fries themselves was quite big. As for the drinks they were really good too, be it the ones with or without dairy, very filling and refreshing. There are many options : with or without whipped cream, cream on top, warm or cold… Their sakura flavored items has a hint of rose taste which I enjoyed a lot ! The prices were also decent (same as other similar places), we paid each approximately 20€ for the quatuor and the drink - it was so cute and delicious at the same, a perfect...
