Been here 3x since Saturday 4/19. Café Ventura is situated in Rue Des Martyrs about a 4 min walk from Le Pigalle and a 16 min walk from Montmartre. What a great find!
Have tried Dîner, then Déjeuner then petit-déjeuner. Thanks for the great service all around from the whole staff and from our servers: Amine, Nadia £ Rafael.
The first time was for early Dîner. Service from the whole staff was friendly and efficient and it helped that they sent us a server Amine who could not only translate the specials for us, but was friendly and entertaining.
We shared a French Onion Soup to start which we enjoyed. Their homemade iced tea here is the best we’ve had in the area. For our mains, I ordered a Steak-Frite special of the day - Bavette Steak with Gorgonzola and Bone Marrow which was exquisite. Hubs ordered a perfectly roasted Cabillaud (cod) in parsnips purée and white butter served with mashed p. It was hard to pick a dessert as they had quite a lineup but we ended up with something we don’t have in the US - Poire Belle-Helene which is Poached Pears with Valrhona chocolate, vanilla ice cream, hazelnuts and pine nuts. Would absolutely order everything again!
We came back for Déjeuner on Easter Monday with Nadia as our server. The place was packed inside and they were already sold out of the Lamb special. I went for the Noix d’ entrêcote (ribeye w peppercorn) and my hubs went for Caesar Salad with chicken. Both were excellent choices.
Then on Tuesday morning, we came here for petit-déjeuner with Rafael. Finally got to try their Brioche Perdue (French toast) with hot chocolate and Crêpes Citron with Caffe Americano for my hubs.
We are not leaving until Saturday, hopefully they will have the Steak w Bone Marrow again before we leave 🤞🏼.

Read moreA Croque Madame and a Side of Discrimination: We stopped by Café Ventura for a light breakfast and ordered a Croque Madame with two espressos. The food itself was average at best. But the real reason for this review is the disrespectful and offensive behavior of one of the waiters.
When we asked for an extra set of cutlery (since we were sharing the dish), the waiter first rudely shooed us away from entering the café, even though it was a simple request. Then, upon hearing what we needed, he made a derogatory remark about “eating with hands” directed at us because we are Indian — and laughed at his own “joke.”
This wasn’t just bad service. It was insulting, discriminatory, and an absolute embarrassment to Parisian hospitality. No guest, tourist or local, should ever be spoken to this way in a café or anywhere else.
Paris itself is beautiful, welcoming, and vibrant — and we refused to let one pathetic individual spoil our trip. But Café Ventura deserves zero stars for allowing such conduct from its staff. Since I can’t give negative stars, one star...
Read moreWe recently had the pleasure of visiting your café in Paris for the third time, accompanied by my daughter. We were warmly welcomed by a tall gentleman, which set a lovely tone for our visit.
However, I feel compelled to share our disappointment regarding one particular aspect that marred our experience. There was a service woman with a nose piercing who, unfortunately, came across as quite rude and unfriendly. It's disheartening to encounter such behavior, especially in a hospitality setting where customer service should be a priority.
As fellow café owners, we understand the importance of creating a welcoming atmosphere, and we believe that a simple smile can make a world of difference. It’s vital to treat every guest with kindness, regardless of language barriers. We genuinely hope that this feedback can help improve the overall experience for future visitors. Thank you for taking the time to consider...
