We stumbled upon this restaurant on the Michelin guide. We ordered two cocktails, one from their signature cocktails which was seemed to be a twist on a mojito but with Gin and passion fruit and a classic mojito. They were ok, nothing stood out about either drink For starters we ordered a some sort of seafood carpaccio, couldn't really tell what kind of protein it was (I believe it was tuna; menu was in French) but it was nice. We also ordered a tomato burratini and their version of deviled eggs. All the starters were good but none really stood out. For entrees we ordered the mushroom risotto which in my opinion the risotto felt a little undercooked but could be considered al dente but again, it was very basic. We also ordered the entrecôte (rib eye) which was cooked to order and served with a nice bernaise sauce. Besides the food the servers were pleasant but one thing to note was that the area where we were sat had multiple mosquitos flying around us. Enough for the waiter to make a comment about it at which point we asked to be moved to another table. The waiter politely obliged, this area was better but unfortunately still had a few mosquitos bothering us as we ate. The service overall was good, nothing over the top and our waiter was nice. Since this was a restaurant that was recommended by the Michelin guide and for the price we paid, we definitely...
Read moreDuring three months in France, I had many excellent meals. This was not one of them.
When I arrived on time for my reservation, early on a weeknight, the restaurant was practically empty, with only one couple at a table and 6 or 7 people at the bar. Despite numerous tiny tables for 2 that were empty, I was seated at the end of the bar next to the entrance.
The bartenders and servers (less than 18 inches from me behind the bar) were extremely careful to avoid all eye contact, so that I could never get their attention to ask for anything. It was unpleasant and awkward to be required to work hard and be very vocal to get any attention. The length of time waiting for service was unusually long — ridiculous in fact.
I almost left, and I should have. But I had read good things about this place, and I was hungry! I considered whether I had done something to offend the staff. I was well dressed, polite, on time, ordered a full-course meal with wines, coffee, and digestif .... but then a Frenchman who arrived after me had the same terrible treatment. It made no sense.
Food. The duck terrine was disgusting — filled with gristle. It was unbelievably bad, inedible. Actually not edible! The dessert, a frozen version of Paris Brest, was very nice. The wines were good but the prices were much higher compared to other restaurants for the same bottle.
Overall, a...
Read moreI had lunch with friends there and really disappointed about the service and the light attitude towards kids’ safety. Here is the story: I took my 2 years’ old son there ( btw no baby chair for a restaurant in the Michelin guide …), my son was thirsty, so I took my glass of water feeding him, he drank a bit and started to use his teeth to play with the glass as he is at the stage of growing his teeth, guess what? The glass broken !!!! There were 2 pieces of glasses went into him mouth, luckily we took them out immediately! So we called the waitor to tell him that they should watch out on the glass quality which can really be dangerous to kids, the guy took it extremely lightly said that :” oh it’s normal, sometimes the glass got broken just with my ring clicks on it, the kids not supposed to play with their teeth on it , i will give you another glass” that’s it ! It’s his reaction, no apologies no potential measure in place, just the kids not supposed to do that! There are millions of things kids not supposed to do, as parents we supervise as much as possible, but we already spotted a high risk, and it’s the right reaction from the restaurant ? I am so disappointed about the attitude and I will never go back to this...
