Absolutely first rate brasserie. Somebody here was talking about getting a moldy piece of bread here but I don't believe it. It doesn't even look like the bread that they served me, and who eats bread anyway when you've got that much seafood? I don't know what he's trying to do because my experience of the place has always been some of the most fresh seafood I have ever had. You walk up to the place and you can smell the ocean. And there are so many choices. It's best to come with some friends because this is a lot of food. Yes, it's expensive, but it's meant to be shared. Otherwise, one group of appetizers would probably be enough. Even though I read somewhere that the Chateaubriand was wonderful, I can't see eating beef in this place when the seafood is just screaming at you to be eaten. And yes it's Paris France. The service is not great. They are not that attentive but most Americans go in there, trying to eat in 30 minutes or less. The French will spend 2 to 3 hours over a meal with conversation: so it's not a guzzling place. And you do get a little bit of better service if you speak French. Why wouldn't you want to learn if you're going there? It adds to the expressive flavor of everything. With his attitude I could see him getting bad service and moldy bread especially picked out for him, but I still have a hard time believing it. I'm certain he was quite insistent, demanding, and rudely dismissive. Get a bottle of water if you don't want them to have to come back constantly: and that way, you have your water. In France they don't like to come back a lot because it's kind of seen as rude to interrupt a meal. Slow down when you're there. This is an experience, not a McDonald's. The McDonald's is down the street on...
Read moreI loved this restaurant! While in Paris a few weeks ago in February I had dinner here twice. I was staying across the street and decided to try it. I wish I had more time I would have gone back again! The restaurant interior is beautiful. The food superb. The staff friendly and accommodating.
The first night I had a server name Kareem. I was dining solo and he was super kind and helpful and brought my food hot! The filet mignon was delicious and cooked perfectly!
The second time I didn't think it would be too crowded on a Monday night in February but because there was an event they were hosting it was crazy busy. The hostess was still very nice welcoming me with open arms agreeing to try to figure out a way to fit me in. After a short wait I was seated. I sat closer to the conference area in the back and the restaurant was overwhelmed with handling regular customers plus the large group. Everybody was doing the best they could so I completely understood. I was actually happy that they had all of this business, it was fun to watch plus there was an energy to the place. When the server could not keep up, guess who spotted me even though he was not my server the second night? Yes, Kareem! It was good to see his smiling face. He noticed that I did not get any bread and rushed off to get it for me. Thanks Kareem!
I had a fabulous time at Mollard's. Everybody seems to work together as a team which is nice to see. The pleasant atmosphere, the superb service, the delicious food, all blends together nicely to make the perfect dining experience. I can't wait to return! Thanks everybody...
Read moreIf you are looking for a Parisian experience - this is THE place to be. You get a strong wiff of the beautiful food the moment you enter the restaurant. Beautiful ambience, even better roof, comfortable seating and most important of all - amazing food!
My friends and I took a number of things with a couple of full menus. Protip - if you are hungry do order from a menu - it will save you quite a bit. Also you can do just entree and plat (main course) or main course and dessert.
I took oysters (bretagnes) as an entrée; seared trout as my main. The oysters were fresh and totally worth the value. Individually the oysters are 25 euros something, but the entire menu is 42 something. This was followed by the trout - oh boy. The fish skin was absolutely crispy; the meat melting through, sauce complementing it perfectly.
Utter satisfaction! All the other dishes my friends took were really good too.
We paired it all with a côté du Rhône and it's hard to go wrong with wines from that region.
I took noix de coco ice-cream for dessert - it's good quality ice cream, but a bit sweet for me and the flavor just did not land well after the beautiful brilliant entree and main course.
The service from the servers - witty and warm. However there are only two card machines, so if you do not want to wait long to leave, make sure you pay before the outgoing rush starts to play. (You get a real Parisian experience ;) , JK)
A bit on the higher end, but worth the value.
I will...
