Hippopotamus — Restaurant in Paris

We joined friends for dinner here. They loved it a few days prior and wanted us to go. We were seated right away and brought menus. We ordered drinks and two appetizers and were told they would take our dinner order in a little bit. That little bit turned into an hour and we still didn't get our order taken. It wasn't busy and we were talking about our and our kids amazing week. The apps were eaten and we finished our drinks and a guy came up and asked if we wanted coffee or dessert. We told him we never had our order taken so no, we don't want dessert. He was all disgusted, took a plate and left, never to be seen again. After another fifteen minutes of trying to get someone, our friends saw the waiter that too care of them previously. He was very friendly and got us our check so we could leave and go to a different place down the street, our favorite place we found this week. I'm not sure what happened but the lack of service was unacceptable. Getting two stars because the drinks and apps were good and the waiter that got our check...

Do not ever come to this super terrible and explosively awful restaurant. The service is terrible, the food is terrible, it’s just nothing. After eating here, my child even vomited. We couldn’t even swallow it. Ninety percent of the steak was tough. When we added one more person to our reservation, the manager seemed really impatient, it’s truly unbelievable. Do not ever come here. Do not ever come! Don’t regret it if you don’t listen to advice!

Ne venez surtout pas dans ce restaurant super terrible et incroyablement mauvais. Le service est mauvais, la nourriture est mauvaise, c’est tout simplement nul. Après avoir mangé ici, mon enfant a même vomi. Nous ne pouvions même pas avaler. Quatre-vingt-dix pour cent du steak était dur. We waited exactly 1 hour and 15 minutes from order time to delivery of our 2 burgers and 1 steak. The only thing that came early was the kids meal and appetizer for one member of our party. The only thing that kept us from eating our shoes were the small amount of chips and bread (with no butter or side plates) we got early on.

Tables that sat after us got their food before us, when we got there it wasn't too busy, when we were done were one of the only ones left.

My theory - given service is tucked into the price, those that ordered lots of drinks and more expensive meals get fed first.

Of all the places we ate while visiting in the area, never had this issue.

The ribeye- first came out rare (ordered medium) which was then fixed to well done -- was extremely fatty, chewy and lacked flavour. Apple crisp dessert lacked apples. The only redemption was the chocolate...
