Bugsy’s — Restaurant in Paris

I visited Bugsy's last month with few friends and found the atmosphere repugnant. I ordered several rounds of chips and pints for the table, and despite the very polite and punctual service, I couldn't help but notice the overbearing and frankly rude woman (possibly the owner) berating and degrading staff to other guests. While I have no problem with the French customer service model, the odd behaviour of this woman who clearly held some position of power over her staff ruined the atmosphere and made for a tense and uncomfortable night out. The mediocre, overpriced Guinness and soggy chips were not worth the wildly uncomfortable experience and as a fellow service worker I feel for...

Located on Rue Mantalivet, Bugsy's is a cozy spot that offers American-style grub (and a few standby British-isms, too) that is well-presented and tasty. The array of burgers is impressive, the fish-and-chips plate is especially good, there are a selection of salads for those of the healthier stripe who don't mind sitting amongst protein-and-frites eaters (the frites!), the beers are a-flowin', and the Daily Specials look special. Other highlights of the Bugsy's experience include friendly service that is also fast, prices that while Madeleine-esque are not overly so, and again with the cozy...the place is a single-room bar that can be crossed end-to-end in roughly...

We loved the food here. I ordered the flank steak and it was on point. So, so good. Came with slaw and fries. The sauce was also delicious. I ordered med rare to med and it was cooked perfectly. My friends ordered the blue cheese burger and the chicken club. Both came with fries and both of them were very happy with their choices. The burger was big. Guinness on tap and a perfect martini.
