Café des Vedettes — Restaurant in Paris

I visited Café des Vedettes recently and unfortunately had a very frustrating experience. We ordered three drinks (two Coca-Colas and a beer) at 20:12. By 20:35 I noticed the drinks sitting on the counter untouched, so I approached to ask if they were ours. A waiter curtly told me to "wait my turn." Another 20 minutes passed and the drinks were still there. When I asked again I received the same dismissive response, but time very rude and loud, even though staff were visibly standing around chatting and not particularly busy.

After waiting over an hour for three simple drinks, I lost patience and expressed my frustration. The manager came out to address the situation and attempted to hand me the drinks which had been sitting out in the heat for over 30 minutes. I declined and insisted on a refund. Shockingly in the process of returning the drinks to the counter, they were spilled and ended up splashing onto a child nearby.

We weren’t the only customers affected in this situation, several others were approaching the counter to ask about their missing orders. The manager did give me a refund and apologized but a bit too late.

I rarely leave negative reviews but the lack of professionalism, slow service and careless attitude really stood out. I would recommend looking elsewhere. There are many great cafés in Paris with nice views of the Eiffel Tower etc that provide a far better...

My husband thought that 8euro for a couple of hotdogs and fries was a rip off. But I had a great experience and this is my review 🙂. I loved the location because it was right by our boat tour and I didn't find many options in the area. In addition to the previously mentioned hotdogs and fries. We also got two decaf coffees. A Caesar wrap and fries. Our total was 28euros. My husband went back and added a veggie wrap for 7euros because he wasn't satisfied with his initial food. Hidden little gem. The staff here go above and beyond to make the patrons happy. Their smile will literally make your day. Perfect arrangement to sit and have a bite & drink while writing for your cruise. I do not understand why so many people complain about the service and pricing. For both the amount of space and staff, be reasonable and understanding, and drop the 'pick me' tourist attitude. This darling little gem is definitely underrated, and under appreciated.
