It’s ok. It’s cute upon first impressions. The staff at check in were a bit rude. There was seven of us with lots of luggage as we were three weeks in Europe and then going on a cruise. They were less than impressed with the size of our group and luggage. They didn’t know that our group spoke French and they were speaking rudely of us which turned us off slightly. The rooms are small. We understand it’s Europe and rooms are generally small. The elevator fits two people and one suitcase so it took us a bit to get organized which again less than impressed the staff. I give location of the hotel a 5 star. It’s very close proximity to the Eiffel Tower and lots of little coffee, shops and restaurants. Walking distance to the metro and the river cruise. The rooms are a little dated and absolutely no pressure in the shower. Showers are a little strange. It’s a tub with a wand that You have to hold in your hand. The lobby is cute and a great place to sit after a long day and have a glass of wine. It’s a tough call whether or not I would recommend this hotel. If you’re basing it on proximity I probably would, but if you’re basing it on experience, I probably wouldn’t. I’m definitely on the fence whether or not I would recommend this hotel. It definitely isn’t a 5 hotel if that’s what you’re expecting more or less a three star maybe 3.5. It needs a little updating and a little fixing up in spots. Beds were OK not super comfortable but ok. It’s a very compact hotel in every aspect. It’s not very well insulated so you can hear a lot of street noise as well. The first night we heard a lot of sirens and a lot of commotion so we didn’t get a lot of sleep. Didn’t flat out hate it, but didn’t flat out. Love it either. If you’re going for convenience, it’s definitely close...
Read moreI had not stayed at this property before nor had I stayed in this specific part of the city. I knew the area on the other side of the Eiffel tower having stayed at a few hotels in the Ecole Militaire area previously. This hotel proved to be a hidden gem in my opinion. Excellent location to the Eiffel tower within reasonable walking distance and we had a tower view room which was delightful. It was room 50 (5th floor out of 6) and it was on the corner of the property. The view from our bed was well...memorable to say the least...and the bed was incredibly comfortable. We opened the windows and had a great view of the tower which was especially magnificent at night and when the lights flickered every hour...drinking wine and laying in bed staring at the eiffel tower what a dream!. The room itself was clean and elegant with all that was needed for our stay. The staff was friendly and the bar area was a nice touch. Proximity to the Metro station, cafes, the Trocodero, shops and Bakeries was also fantastic and really did cement this hotel for us as a return stop to use as a base camp when exploring this great city. One day we decided to walk to the Champs-Elysees for shopping and it was a very nice scenic walk through the city that was easily done in about 20mins or so. All in all great value and it exceeded our expectations. Would...
Read moreWe’ve booked at this hotel mainly because of the excellent location. At arrival the staff was very welcoming and friendly, unfortunately I can’t say the same about the staff of the evening shift. We checked in at 5.30pm and the room was clean. At 7pm we left for dinner and when we came back at 9pm we noticed that our stuff in de room was moved, the bed was made up (again) and there was chocolate on our bed. We called the front office to ask who was in the room so late in the evening since I never experienced housekeeping 2x in only a couple hours and it felt sketchy like someone had been keeping an eye on when we left. The guy at the front office said he didn’t know and when I told him I didn’t feel safe not knowing who entered the room, he basically laughed at me. He said it’s normal that housekeeping entering whenever and reorganizing the room (including my personal belongings). Which is an invasion of privacy. He said he would report it to his boss and the next day his boss would contact me. The following day no one reached out to clarify. Which makes me believe he didn’t even call his boss. Something weird was going on and luckily we locked our valuable things in our suitcases and lockers.
Summarizing, the location is a solid 10. The service overall is good, only the incident with the sketchy guy at the front desk...
