Café Père Tanguy — Restaurant in Paris

We went for dinner early so the place was quiet. The waitress was lovely and helped in English. food was very nice as well as the wine. The only reason for me to remove a star is that the area at the entrance e is a smoking area despite it being sort of indoors, which means we had to sit in the real indoor restaurant. Despite that. We could smell the cigarette smoke throughout dinner. This is not something I am used to and which I thought was quite bad for the personnel who have to passive smoke all day and evening during their shift. I guess this is allowed in Paris, unlike places like London, but not being used to this, I thought it was quite disturbing, especially because it leaves a smell on your clothes. My wife and I shared a lovely and delicious dinner here. First we split a fabulous goat cheese salad which was an incredibly unique and fantastic combination of sweet and savory ingredients. Fantastic! Then we split the vegetarian lasagna which was rich and fulfilling with eggplant, peppers, and a perfectly roasted top. I've been looking for a good proper filling meal in France for the past 3 weeks and my hunger and taste has not been satisfied until now ! The Cordon Bleu was beautiful with the mashed potatoes, the snails were just right with the garlic and, the staff were very responsive without being in your face and the atmosphere was electric....
