I (Purnadi) and my wife (Arleen) had a late lunch here and we came close to 3pm where the kitchen will be closed, but we were welcome by a lady by the name of SUZY, who extended a great service from the time we asked whether restaurant will be closed. There are many other cafes around, but we were quite hungry and just wanted to have a quick meal. Lo and behold she just said that there was still enough time and kindly asked us if we already knew what we meant (in a nice way). The good thing that we liked is she didn’t right away say that ‘we’re gonna close’ but welcomed us well and tried to go to kitchen to probablu hold a bit until we made our order. After she led us to our table, it wasn’t really a rush although by the time she came back we already made up our mind what to order. We really enjoy being served nicely, not merely about the food which was also nice (our order are avocat on toast and impossible burger, a common food but taste was good).
Before she left and probably finished her work, she approached us again and chatted a little, asking us where we are from. We told her that we visited Paris for a work as well as a short holidays for around 2 weeks. We came to Paris a few times in the past but having such experience of getting a great service in a restaurant was not somthing common. It is not that Parisiens are not polite but in fact such rare nice server or excellent customer service is not common at all in any other place, especially in my hometown of Singapore. Probably people are generally nice but those who the extra mile, such as Suzy is a gem in this industry of hospitality and they are needed more, esspecially after covid-19 pandemic, where people start to travel again and tourism is growing again, I think this hospitality business should be reminded that such persons doing their job with an excellent attitude must not be taken for granted, for service provider as well as tourists alike, both must appreciate there are people like Suzy who is passionate and loves their job.
God bless you, Suzy....
Read moreWe were there for Sunday brunch. Good enough food, although on the sweet side for the pancakes and too much cream not enough cheese in the cheese cake (but this is a matter of personal taste). I found the service however lacking : despite reservations having to wait outside (not sure how they are organized). Either we order all the food at the same time or nothing (is it too much to ask to order / get the drinks that are part of the brunch menu ahead of the rest?). When you reserve it is written in tiny letters the table is only for a min (sic...they must have meant max) 1h45 and then we were asked to vacate the table. And the payment system insists on asking for American style tips even though we are in France and service is supposed to be included. So a lot of thought put into how to maximize revenue for the restaurant and its staff but not so much on the customer experience... 4* for the food/decor and 2* for the service so...
Read morewent there on a Wednesday night, lots of things were not available. (No smash, no halloumi, only one aubergine left, no oysters and no asparagus, anyway it’s the end of the season for asparagus and if it’s not available just take it out or change the menu)
Server dropped a menu without mentioning about the available items only to find out when she came back to take to order and processed to lied to our group that she already mentioned what were available and what weren’t (we were more than 3 and non of us heard that so….). Besides for that particular server another girl who dropped our food were nice and kind.
What a shame for a nice décor place, open 7 days a week but can’t keep up with the food supplier.
Foodwise, okay nothing special, fries were...
