The bread bánh mì was not too bad. One star for the beef taste. Another star simply for the bread being hot enough. Too little veggie. I wanted to think about one more good point but there is none, to my disappointment. If one compares it with a kebab bread of a similar price (7 euro), it is nothing worse, to be fair. But if one compares it with the standard bánh mì, one expects a better quality, regardless of the price.
Servants tried to be nice - 3 stars for service. But the Viet-speaking lady persuaded me to get a drink, which turned out to be no different from any kind of commercial coffee bag sold everywhere in Vietnamese supermarket for under 1 euro. Come only if you find it worths 6.5 Euro. No tourists from Viet or Asia in general would want to make a stop at this trap so close to Notre Dame.
Atmosphere: one point for being quiet, if one does not count the lady speaking on her phone... and one point for the experience of a personal retreat, since no other customer but you was there during dinner time. When I walked past another Viet restaurant on the same street afterwards, it's full of people. I don't need to mention its name.
Conclusion: despite all the positive aspects, the negative points left an overall impression of just 2 stars. I did not try the other cuisines by the way, so I am not able to comment on...
Read moreMy husband came across this small Vietnamese restaurant walking around before our visit to Notre Dame Cathedral. We both were feeling nauseated and achy and decided that the only thing we could eat was broth. Moments later we coincidentally walked past this place that advertised Pho. We had the most transformative bowl of pho ga I have ever had. We had either green tea or jasmine tea. I don't now what it was, the broth or the tea, or both, but we both realized half way through the meal that our nausea and aches had dissipated completely. I have never experienced anything so transformative and rejuvenating in terms of food and nutrition. Not to mention that it was the best tasting pho ga I have ever eaten, so clean tasting and healthful. I'm returning in August with my kids and will go out of my way to eat here again. One of the most memorable meals I've had because we felt healed here. The place is small, like a handful of tables and felt like it was family owned, with multiple generations in the restaurant working or hanging out....
Read moreExtremely disappointing. We went and the waitress took our order. While waiting we heard 4 other customers complaining about the quality and the taste of the meat. In particular three friends didn't even finish the dishes, the beef and pork looked extremely dry, and another table asked the beef to be replaced by chicken because of the taste. When we were finally served, we tasted (we took one bobun and two phos) and we also had the same impression that the meat had indeed a very weird taste. Without hesitation we decided to leave to avoid any food poisoning. I find it extremely unprofessional that we paid 40 euros for three people (15 euros for a small bobun not edible is extremely expensive). The woman saw we left the dishes untouched she took the money and didn't even care to ask us why we...
