I must begin this review by praising the hosts for their availability, flexibility, and generosity. Although we have never met, since they and we did not overlap in Paris, they treated us as friends and accommodated us at every turn. In return, it was helpful to us both to deal directly with each other rather than through a service such as AirBnB or Vrbo. This makes payment a little more complicated, as it cannot yet be done by credit card, but in the end it is straight forward and works well. Prior to arrival, we were sent a couple of descriptive PDFs containing detailed photos and active links that made it easy to enter the apartment on our own and to learn about shops, restaurants and activities near and far. My guess is that anyone needing assistance in using the many convenient appliances would be promptly helped by the owners either by WhatsApp or email. Responses on WhatsApp were immediate and those by email were not far behind. Excellent communication is a big plus.
We have returned several times to the Motte-Picquet area of the 15th Arrondissement near the Eiffel Tower, where this lovely apartment is located, because it has wonderful shops, restaurants and markets and is at the crossroads of 3 Metro lines at Motte-Picquet (numbers 6, 8, and 10) and several bus lines (e.g. 69 and 80), so one can quickly reach nearly anyplace in Paris and many outside it by public transportation (be sure to get a Navigo pass). The apartment itself is perfectly placed in a quiet location and, although by facing east the many windows in the living/dining area do not have a direct view of the Eiffel Tower, I noticed at night that the tower's flashing lights at night reflected perfectly off the neighbor's west-facing windows one flight up, looking a bit like a dramatic Christmas tree.
By Paris standards, the apartment is spacious; it is definitely comfortable. The kitchen is well-equipped for heating or cooking, although with the many sources of prepared foods in the immediate neighborhood and along the nearby Rue Cler, we did more heating than cooking. The Ikea dishes are microwave proof, so the current lack of glass or ceramic dishes for microwaving is not a problem in the perfectly sized microwave. For dishes in metal containers, the large convection oven works beautifully. A room with toilet and sink is separate from the large bathroom off the bedroom, which works well. The bedroom itself has a queen bed, a large closet with many hangers, and a couple of narrow side tables, but no chest of drawers, although the closet shelf was helpful. The locked owner's closet is discreet. Photos make the apartment seem disproportionately long, but it is attractively proportioned and works well for entertaining.friends.
The Art Deco theme is a description of the apartment building, which is indeed older in an Art Deco style, well laid out and attractive. The small elevator works well and is quiet, with a separate elevator for each of 3 parts of the building. The apartment itself has been nicely renovated; its furnishings are eclectic, functional.and pleasant. The apartment and building are clean. The nice floors with no rugs make the apartment non-allergenic, and the size and placement of windows make the apartment both private and bright.
In sum, this is a perfect place to stay when visiting Paris--helpful hosts, great location, and comfortable, quiet,...
Read moreWe were in Paris from 15 Feb - 22 Feb 2025. I found this cozy apartment for the three of us—myself, my teenage daughter, and my niece—and it was perfect. We were in the safest of all neighborhoods, with at least two supermarkets less than three minutes away and a boulangerie just a few steps from the apartment. The kitchen was packed with all kinds of spices, and the welcome drink and tart were lifesavers as we arrived late, without proper dinner other than plane food. The apartment is just 10 minutes away from the Eiffel Tower. We went there on the last night to see it shimmer for five minutes.
But what truly made the apartment great were our wonderful hosts. Every step of the way, we felt their presence from the moment we entered the apartment until the day we left. Our hosts made sure we were safe and comfortable. They were always communicating with us and showed us their sincerity. Because of these gestures, I felt so supported and had one less thing to worry about as the only adult/parent.
To our wonderful hosts, thank you for such a wonderful stay in Paris. We are so lucky to have found you and your apartment. We will come back if we ever visit Paris again. Much...
Read moreWe highly recommend the Paris Art Deco apartment. We were met by the friendly Mr. Diba, who welcomed us warmly and provided an apartment overview.
We can honestly say that every aspect of the apartment exceeded our expectations. It is light-filled, comfortable and perfectly clean. The bedding and towels are of quality, making bedtime and showers a pleasant experience. By using the blackout shades, the bedroom was dark for sleeping. The bedroom is well-organized, with plenty of storage for your clothes. The kitchen allows for self-catering and contains everything you need. The building itself is secure, features an elevator and is conveniently located.
The neighborhood is quiet, safe, and located close to the Champ de Mars and the Eiffel Tower. Groceries, restaurants and public transportation (multiple bus and metro connections) are only a few minutes walk away.
An added bonus is that the owners are incredibly thoughtful people who truly want you to enjoy your time in Paris. They extended us multiple courtesies and went above and beyond what one might expect. We thank them greatly for...
