i am leaving three stars because i don’t want to unfairly inflate or subtract from their reviews because i was unaware upon wandering into this establishment that it was gluten free. i have a friend in paris who is gluten free and shops like this are very important and obviously nothing is going to taste the same or have the same texture. i also had a positive experience with the service (cashier was very nice and spoke to me in french even after identifying my awkwardness with the language which was very kind, she also spoke english to the man before me) and the shop is very atmospherically cute. that being said, it was by far the worst coffee i have had in my life (iced cappuccino that had two ice cubes and was 40% unfoamed and warm milk as i understand is the parisian rather than specialty style; just something to note). the pain au chocolat is understandably different because its gluten free but i will say be prepared if you’re for example accompanying someone you know, as i really did not like it or more accurately it just wasn’t for me. that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have its place and i don’t want to evaluate it as someone who it isn’t intended for. however, ill add that it was absurdly expensive (11,40 for pain au chocolat and iced cappuccino which is more expensive than in usa where im from). in summary: im so glad there’s an option for gluten free people in paris, the service was really good, its super cute, but the food was not for me & the drinks were very very...

Definitely best Gluten Free pastry and bread place in Paris. There are several Copains places and all have great and friendly staff that help with suggestions (chestnut flour bread was really good!). Places are small, notvrealky sit down type (wish it becomes that in the future), but great place for take-away sandwiches and pastries if you just feel like eating while strolling around squares and parks. Only minus - consistency. On the first visit we tried pistachio babka and it was amazing!! Next time we got it in another Copains and it was underbaked, as well as cinnamon one. Got it again another day and same - underbaked. A week later - baked well. So they still need some practice with that, but otherwise very good GF pastries and service/price wise the best in Paris (yes, we tried other GF places too). My favorites in Copains: chestnut flour bread with figs, pain aux raisin, babka pistache, beignet framboise, flan pistache, and vegan...

This is my favorite place in Paris, just down the street from where we are staying in Le Marais. Beautiful gluten free bakery, with so many vegan options and friendly helpful staff, especially Nicolas, who speaks Italian, French, and English! The quinoa baguette is heavenly and so is the buckwheat baguette. The fig walnut bread is delicious. I love the cinnamon bun, and although I don’t usually like cake, I love the pistachio cake so much that I ordered a whole one to take back home with me. I see so many sandwiches in shops in Paris, and finally I can get one that is vegan and gluten free! The cappuccino is delicious too. We have come here every day on our vacation to Paris, and I just wish there was a Copains back home in Chicago! It’s the best for vegan and also non vegan gluten free goodies. This is a Parisian gem and it is absolutely better than any of the vegan bakeries I’ve been to in Paris. Thank you, Copains, for making...

I’ve visited three times in the past week. What a treat to enjoy gluten free bagels, focaccia, croissants and pastries. The prices are quite fair for such specialty products (croissant €2.80). No they aren’t exactly like the originals but they’re pretty close compared to most GF offerings. Bonus! The swish contemporary setting could make this place pretentious but the staff are so lovely & helpful.
