This is a gem of a place with a very unique style, a brilliantly executed and diverse menu, but an equally lacking and unique understanding of customer service and understanding of the word "reservation".
All the good of our evening was placed on the shoulders of Simon our brilliant server and the, to us, amazing menu. However we were rushed out with repeated "warnings" from the table team after they cancelled our table because we didn't pick up the phone to confirm our reservation less than two hours before the start time, leading them to cancel and rebook the table in the five minutes between that and us calling them back.
This was topped off by the same member of staff saying "they never leave on time even though we warned them" as we exited the restaurant a minute after we were meant to, 15 minutes before the next guest was booked for (apprently already waiting but conviently nowhere to be seen), and a whole 45 minutes before we were meant too.
If youre looking for a place to spend €130 for a unique annivsary dinner but overall get treated like an undeserving child spending their pocket money, then this is the place to go.
Thank you for the brilliant food, amazing concept, and solely to Simon, brilliant in both French...
Read moreVery bad customer service- Bad Food - Catastrophic experience!
We were greeted very poorly, taken to a tiny table in the extreme back of the restaurant cramped between other tiny tables and with an art piece obstructing our plates. Like how are we supposed to eat? To top it up, you are greeted by a lecture guilting you into not wasting food and telling you that they will be passing over your table to check if you left anything on your plates of and they tell you try to get as many plates in your hands as you can and that you only have a limited time. Waiters are standing by your table chitchatting about their hangover from the previous night. Super uncomfortable experience making you feel really you are bothering them. If only the food was good, well not at all, not a single dish to the standard, tasteless and coarse. Not a single fruit in desert apart from apple bathing in sugary water, many toppings but nothing to put it on (They were out yogurt and it was the first service of the day)
Honestly if they hadn’t already pre-charged us, we would have left even before...
Read moreNot bad, but not amazing. (1) not a real fan of the banquet, so it was ok. (2) food wise, nothing to say as we know the quality from Orgueil, but surely not the same eccentricity, not the same unexpected contrast. Was maybe a bit too rustic. Very oriented to either French not adventurous lads, or ‘ricains’ tourists looking for home basic french classics. Nice terrines, nice chicken, nice gnocchi…. But nothing ‘wow…. Nothing ‘waaa’ just OK. (3) decor quite chic and art déco. Nice home staging. It’s a total change from Orgueil direction where adventurous cooking is ‘legend’ and where bistronomie is key. In summary, prefer eating less but more inventive (sorry I am french, I love 'envy' but very good michelin/topchef level). One note, forget the candles on the table, wax doesn’t go with food. No food pics, it's a buffet. Just vibes. Was a 'soft opening' so adapted the price to real if was normal prices (ie 59 Dinner Fri and Sat) adding a...
