Fichon — Restaurant in Paris

A lovely discovery for fish lovers!

I’m really happy to have found this charming fish-focused restaurant. The menu is small, with about four or five main courses to choose from, which usually means everything is fresh and well-considered.

I went for the tataki, which was beautifully prepared and came with an incredibly fresh and flavorful salad—light, balanced, and satisfying. As a starter, I picked the shrimp dish (because that was the one French word I recognized on the menu 😅). It turned out to be a cold dish, which surprised me—I wish I had known that in advance, but it was still tasty.

They also have an impressive selection of natural wines, which really complemented the meal. We were a group of six friends, and everyone enjoyed their food and the cozy atmosphere. Definitely a place I’d recommend if you're into quality seafood...

My husband’s family is from Lima, Peru and I grew up on an island in the Pacific Northwest. Needless to say, we love seafood and have pretty high standards for ceviche. We also love Paris, but we tend to seek more traditional cuisine during our visits—with all that said, Fichon was a breath of fresh air during this visit. The ceviche was inventive (high risk and high reward) and the suggested wine pairing was phenomenal. Atypical of Paris, they also had an impressive selection of craft beers. There is a certain warmth about this place that I cannot quantify—but if you are fortunate enough to meet the owner, you will quickly understand the source of that warmth. Love this place. All fresh seafood creatively prepared. I love sashimi and the dishes they serve is like elevated sashimi with a French twist to me. Note that the seafood is not always raw. Most of them are smoked or marinated. The food is delicious and this restaurant is my go to when I am in the mood for fish and something fresh.
