Gaijin Ramen - Bastille Paris 11ème — Restaurant in Paris

I would recommend this restaurant to any ramen lover visiting/living in Paris. The staff and owner are extremely friendly and passionate about the quality of service and of food they produce. I highly recommend the Gaijin Ramen, a rich duck broth with thinly sliced duck breast paired with foie grais and marinated mushrooms. I have had ramen all over the world, but never had seen a duck centered ramen, and was definitely not disappointed. The quality of noodles is extremely high, as they remain springy and chewy without becoming soggy, all while soaking up rich flavor from the broth. I’m excited to return and am very optimistic for the future of this restaurant and any other ventures...

My partner and I visited during Gaijin’s first week of opening, before it was even listed on Google. We took a chance, and it was absolutely worth it. The owner—who also served us—was incredibly accommodating, walking us through the menu and clearly passionate about creating the best experience possible. Après avoir découvert le concept de Gaijin en plein COVID, ce qui nous a permis de voyager gustativement sans quitter notre salon (et de sauver nos soirées, accessoirement), nous avons profité d'un séjour dans la capitale pour venir découvrir leur tout nouveau restaurant situé entre Bastille et République.

Entre l'accueil chaleureux et généreux, la carte à la fois familière (on commence à connaître les classiques ^^) et originale (les sandos, idée géniale, sont à tomber par terre), nous avons retrouvé le plaisir de savourer d'excellentes recettes dans un superbe décor, très dépaysant.

Mentions spéciales pour les sandos, la recette Gaijin spécial au bouillon de canard et le serveur, super sympa et très généreux (bon, en gros, tout le resto, quoi). Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir, ne serait-ce que pour découvrir le karaage, victime de son succès mais surtout pour profiter encore de cette ambiance généreuse et quasi-familiale.
