Hippopotamus — Restaurant in Paris

We went there to eat tonight with friends and enjoy a dish but the service was so terrible. We arrived, ordered and our dishes came (with only one out of two garniture ordered each and 0 sauce) the waiter said it would come soon cause he didn’t have more hands. It didn’t so we called and had to order garnitures and sauces again (we were firstly proposed a plate with all of the sauces but they refused the second time we ordered). It didn’t come either. We had to call another waitress to order once more (it’s like they did not register the food we ordered anywhere on their phones or they were not accessible by all waitresses to see cause we had to repeat ourselves each time) . Anyway it finally came (almost 20-25 min after receiving the meats). We decided to order some other garnitures (1/person) cause we were still hungry. The food came and we ate it all and wanted some other garnitures again (we only had 3/person and one sauce each but it was at will ) they refused to let us order cause apparently a limit has been reached (we were supposed to be able to order at will garnitures and sauce we even confirmed with a waiter at the start of our meal). We were very disappointed with the service we felt like we weren’t cared for much. The service spoiled our meal. Went as it was recommended by a lovely staff and the hotel I was staying at. My expectations were not very high as it was a chain which was present around Paris from my initial knowledge.

The service was good, and there was a QR code to scan for the English menu which was great. We had ordered a small starter, steak and their steak burger. The atmosphere reminded me of a more relaxed TGI without the noise which was great for mr

The steak was good but not great, the cut was a bit on the smaller side but overall taste was good. The starter and the burger on the other hand were simply amazing.

The burger I had ordered was with bacon so I had this removed, but still the flavours were simply amazing. Served with a black bun which was crisp and the meat just stole the show along with the cheese. I would go back just simply for this burger next time...

The place is in a nice and in an easily accessible zone. They struggled a bit to accommodate us because we were 8 people but in the end they found a solution reasonably quickly. The waiters were very nice with us but they did some mistakes taking the orders even if they quickly found a solution. The service was longer than expected, and I cannot explain myself why because the number of waiters seemed to me adequate, sure it was only an organizational issue. Food was very good and the menu is extensive, offering so many traditional dishes. The price was also good. I wish I could give 5 stars to the place because the food was delicious, but I can't ignore the problems regarding the service, maybe a bit more organization would be great. In general I can recommend you the place, but be prepared to wait a little bit more...
