For authentic french food, resonably priced and served by good people, La forge offers one of the best places to dine in the 5th. I often bring friends here when they are visiting to start with one of the best in the area. While Paris is filled with amazing restaurants, few can compare with the La Forge's wonderful service. They serve delicious meals at reasonable prices, (trois fois gras is so good!) and the the ambiance of the restaurant is great too!

We had the duck confit, cassoulet, and beef tartar. The duck confit was flavourful and crispy, the cassoulet was hearty and rich, and the beef tartar was fresh and well-seasoned. I was especially impressed by the crème brûlée, the top is perfectly crisp and the custard was cold and creamy, it has the right sweetness level. The service was also extremely good! We don’t speak French, but the staff brought us a whole black board for English menu and explained everything to us patiently. I would definitely recommend...
