Discretely tucked slightly away from the big touristy places all around the neighborhood, Orphee’s the epitome of the generous, welcoming, friendly yet carefully sophisticated Parisian place.
Locals in the know come as often as they can, because Orfeo, the owner, and his team always playfully try new things mixing influences from different cuisines, mainly French (of course) and Japanese, reinventing classics, mixing styles and flavors. Lunch is a chef’s menu you can’t go wrong with, and dinner is a tapas-style plethora of dishes to share, the list and quality of which reverses your thinking from “what do I fancy?” to “what can I live without tasting?”. And it’s really tough to rule stuff out! (come with a few friends and sample everything, you won’t regret it).
The place is drenched with the love for the craft and carefully sourced, quality ingredients. And the service is on par, genuinely happy to bring smiles on the faces of delighted patrons. We love this place and its people so much we always come several times every time we...
Read moreVery nice fusion cuisine, way better than one could generally expect. The fish I took was super fresh. All the dishes were good from tataki salmon to roasted duck or Japanese curry which I tried for the first time. The wine selection is also good: you can find a bit of everything. The team and the chef are super hospitable. The red wines were served a bit too warm but they noted it down. I was especially surprised by domaine des Gravennes (Côtes du Rhone): excellent price quality ratio. It's a GSM, I personally loved it and bought a bottle for my birthday. The price and quality ratio is better than in Brussels. The interior is minimalistic all details are well thought of: from cutlery to chairs. Good luck to the team you are...
