I’ve given such a low rating because I feel like the club has designed a system to exploit customers. The tickets for a gig are SUPER cheap, at only €1! But when you arrive, the gig is often delayed, so they suggest you have a beer while you wait, which costs a minimum of €12 (one of the most expensive beers I’ve ever seen in Paris). Here’s the best part though, when the gig actually starts you are OBLIGED to buy another drink. I still had a beer I bought outside of the room but that doesn’t count and you have to buy another one. And finally, the most scammy, dirty trick: when you go to pay for your expensive drink in the music room, they inform you that actually, in the music room exclusively, the minimum on the card raises from €12 to €15! So now you have to buy TWO expensive drinks on top of the one you bought waiting or else they (as happened to me) become very belligerent. It’s such a shame because the music really was excellent. I’d also feel much more comfortable paying a little more for a ticket instead of being tricked into buying obnoxiously...
Read moreIt’s a magnificent evening of Jazz orientated, close-up, in your face exposure to a set of incredible musicians, Parisian style. I’m So glad I discovered this wonderful Le Baiser Salé venue. Drink eat and then retire to the floor above to the business at hand. Listen, watch and absolutely engross yourselves in a feeding frenzy of jamming, jams and blindingly talented musicians. I’ve been there three times but was not able to gain entry to the show on the most recent occasion, because I had not booked a ticket online prior to turning up. I was of course disappointed after traveling from London for a short break. So grab tickets online if you can. This lovely venue reminds me of London’s now defunct Marquee Club in Wardour Street, where I worked as a teenager in the 70s. It’s small, quaint and brimming over with electric atmosphere. You must catch the Chronic Lovers with Daniel Von Piekartz on Piano/vocals, Tiss Rodriguez on drums. You got the funk...
Read moreRude staff. Watered down drinks. A Manager who exploits the musicians. If you decide to support this jazz club, you should know that if it’s a group of musicians performing, they are making less than 15€ each for a 2-3 hr show. And then this owner has the gall to limit them to only TWO included drinks during that time!
I go there only to support my friends performances. You pay upwards of 30€ for a concert, plus drinks- so that makes around 50€ for the night. My review is not about the music nor the sound engineers, who are top notch. It is for the stingy and rude staff that breath down your neck as soon as you enter to get you to order- and they do not disclose that if you order something under 5€, they charge you an additional fee. It’s a scam! This club is stealing from everyone- from the customers to the performers. Don’t patronize them. Sunside is decent. Management here needs a...
