This has been a popular local restaurant for a very long time, which recently changed ownership, receiving a superb face lift (light, bright) and an expanded, menu that now INCLUDES breakfasts. I imagine most "regulars" (ourselves included) were holding their breath after losing a favorite "go'to", but we were quickly delighted by the changes and additions.
Thank goodness a favorite server from the previous owner, Carol, still remains, to welcome us oldies back, bridging continuity and adding so much to a meal with her smile and great sense of humor. Service remains fast, efficient and welcoming.
Food is excellent and quantities copious, making the slightly higher prices worth the extra centimes.
A few standouts worth mentioning, like onion soup, which is rarely given proper attention. Not here. it's superb. The caesar Salad with crispy fried chicken is another winner, along with the Saucisson served with aligot. Breakfast omelettes are delicious and well prepared. Most every plate leaving the kitchen looks delicious. I especially appreciate the few creative twists, like a croque served with truffled ham, or the duck confit (plat du jour) with a sweetish orange sauce.
So often salads are plopped on a plate as mere decoration. NOT here. They are fresh, delicious and tasty, more than worth eating.
A big thank you to the new ownership for bringing a community favorite back...

I categorically do not understand how anyone could enjoy this restaurant. The food was just horrendous.
My partner and I went here after we saw it was on the list of the 10 best restaurants in Monmartre. If that’s true, just don’t bother eating in Monmartre full stop.
The food was tasteless at best and disgusting at worst. Don’t hold your breath for the cocktails either - one of the worst caparinhas I have ever had in my life (which is rich considering they have about 3 ingredients).
The wine was fine but presumably because the restaurant has no part in the production process.
Food tasted defrosted or honestly as if it had been left out.
On the plus side it arrived fairly quickly (presumably because microwaves don’t take that long) and the waitress was nice.
Please don’t waste your money at this restaurant it was overpriced and...
Read moreThis place was close to our hotel and we saw it from the street and decided to come in. So glad we did, the waiter, AG, made our experience top notch. He was so friendly and we felt instantly at home. We came twice, first time we came around 10pm, ordered a burger and onion soup, both delicious. Nice place to relax after our flight into Paris. Next day, we decided to come for dinner again since we had such a great time the first night, and saw the same friendly server….he remembered us :) This time we ordered the duck and lamb rack, both dishes very tasty as well. The wine we ordered was delightful.
If we ever come back to Montmartre area, we would definitely make a point to come here :) such cozy and inviting atmosphere....
