Even tough I enjoyed my stay and left slightly disappointed. I was so very much looking forward to it and I think I got so much high expectations that got disappointed. The location is amazing. Perfect in the city center, next to restaurant, bars & underground. Good to walk. Definitely a bonus. The hotel inside its sort of old building and very historic. If you are very tall, you may knock you head somewhere. Reception team were very nice & attentive. English was a bit limited but they did their best to explain and was always very clear to us. The room (52) facing Notre Dame. Well can't fault the view. It's amazing. Another thing I was very impressed, despite the traffic & noise from outside I couldn't hear anything from outside (apart from police&ambulance) but not an issue for me. Good size room with comfortable bed & pillows. I was left disappointed because I am use to have coffee facilities and for the price we paid there was nothing in the room. I believe they provide a coffee machine downstairs behind reception but you need to pay. I got a cold and was feeling pretty bad. Luckily I had some lemon & ginger tea and asked for boiling water at reception, they kindly gave it to me. The bathroom it's pretty but not functional. The hot water was always going between cold & hot. No much space to move around, the water from shower was going everywhere and very dark. There was no much space to put our stuff. There was no big mirror in the room. My boyfriend found one behind the door from the bathroom which we had to close the door and stand in the dark bathroom. Not good if you need to do makeup & hair. There is a empty wall on the side of the room. You could definitely put one in there. Another disappointment - breakfast. Don't take me wrong, the selection was good and tasty. The girls was amazing. She end up memorizing our preference. We'll done 😍 Can't fault a good baguette & croissant from Paris but we paid 18£ extra (usual outside price) and for 4 days we ate the same. Coffee, orange juice, baguette, croissant, pau chocolat, flavoured yogurt. Last day there was no baguette available.. Shame! This is a tourist city with loads of people from all over the world. If you don't want to do cooked breakfast that's fine but could definitely do some fruit salad or cereal or even bit of ham or cheese. It was good but poor selection. Paying...
Read moreTo begin with due to the Olympics we were unable to access the hotel from the other side of the Seine. After 3 hours of driving/traffic trying to get to the hotel after a few days at Euro Disney, we had to abandon the car and walk 45 minutes with all of our luggage. We were not made aware by the hotel at booking that access would be an issue, we were not supported when we called for help getting there as we did not know if there was a bus or train etc.
The cost of the room was more than you would pay if you stayed 2 nights in a 4 star hotel. At 285 Euros per night we got the same stay at dream castle hotel and Mercure for 2 night.
What we got for the money was carrying luggage up a flight of stairs, a lift that can only fit one person very coffin like. A room that was wonky - window area was higher than the door to room almost sloping making a disorienting feel walking around the room. We opened the window and some plastic vent fell off. The view was not great just of the street and cordoned off sections of the road, lots of police and noise with the river in the background.
The room and bed were far too small for my partner of 6 foot 3, it was almost like a loft room. The walls were dark carpet and fabric and there was a chemical smell in the air, either from the fabric or recent paintwork?
There were no fire escapes and being on the 5th floor in floor to ceiling fabric like a gothic dolls house did not do it for me.
We didn’t even stay I’m sorry to say and I felt bad on the lady in reception as she was really nice. Was charged straight away even though was only there for less than an hour.
Made me more aware to be careful when booking online - appears luxury online with deceptive descriptions and photos (and prices) but actually it’s a horrible, claustrophobic fire hazard waiting to happen. Over priced and in need of...
Read moreThey have 6 floors, we stayed in room 62 at the very top floor during our 5-day stay in Oct 2022. The room was clean & bed was made. Sheets are bleached clean, no odd stains or odors. The room is small but adequate. The bathroom was a bit of an issue for us, since we're at the very top of the building the ceiling slopes down in certain areas, particularly in the bathroom. I am 5'1" and my head could touch the ceiling of the bathroom when I stand up to shower. My husband is taller & always had to stoop. The toilet is in a small corner next to the tub so your leg would hit the side of the tub when you sit down & there isn't much room to move. The whole room also seems to be on an incline, if you put a water bottle on it's side it would roll from the TV area down to the bed. The windows offered lovely views of Notre Dame and fresh air in the mornings when opened. There is breakfast for a fee but we opted out since there are lots of places to eat around. Reception will hold your bag(s) if you arrive before check-in time (2pm). Closest station is St Michel Notre Dame. Uber drivers prefer to drop off by Notre Dame since the Quai de la Tournelle can be a very congested area. We didn't mind the short walk. Overall, great location, close to the train station, food on every corner as well as the Shakespeare cafe & bookstore. If we do stay again, I'd ask for a room that isn't on an incline and with a bathroom where we can properly...
