I'm a frequent visitor to Paris for business.
It's been a long time since I've had a racist experience in Paris. The food tastes SO SO, not especially bad or delicious.
Of course, there may be employees who do not, so we will designate a man with mixed white and black hair who was in charge of the outdoor table to continue the talk.
I repeatedly hit, pushed, or hit with my body on purpose when I put or took something on the table, and I continued to push and even hit the back of my head on purpose using my body and arms, even though I was asked not to do this. It was very unpleasant.
And I ordered a bottle, obviously, pointing to the name of the wine and the list on the menu, but I didn't bring the most expensive bottle of the same name for confirmation, so I opened it right away. And when I paid, I was gutted to repeat, "You ordered this?"
Finally, when I was halfway through the meal, I put down my fork and knife for a moment and was talking, but when I called again because I suddenly took the plate without saying anything and he didn't answer my call, I had already thrown the food away. My two friends and I had been shopping and wanted to stop somewhere for coffee after a day of sightseeing in Paris. With just a few hours left in the city, we were hoping to find a cozy spot to take in the Parisian atmosphere one last time. Le Petit Marcel seemed to fit the bill.
The bald waiter (whose name I unfortunately can’t recall) greeted us, seemed friendly, and even made small talk about where he was from. He showed us the specials, and everything seemed fine. However, the experience took a turn when we ordered tea, coffee, and some crepes. For some reason, he seemed visibly annoyed by our order, which we couldn’t quite understand.
The real issue came when we tried to pay the bill. It turned into a bizarre and frustrating experience. The waiter avoided making eye contact, kept walking past us, and gave us side-eye, which made it nearly impossible to get his attention. After 20 minutes of this back-and-forth, we finally managed to settle the bill.
While the food and drinks were great, the service was a huge letdown. I’ve traveled extensively and have never encountered service quite like this. It was incredibly disappointing. It’s such a shame that a beautiful restaurant with excellent food is marred by such poor service...
Read moreThis small yet inviting restaurant is located across the rue from the flat I’m staying in on Rue Rambuteau. Decided to dine here on my first evening. What a treasure. Started with oeuf mayonnaise with a coupe of champagne. Followed by my favorite confit de canard served with roasted potatoes and salad and a glass of Rhone from Saint Joseph. Service was professional at appropriately attentive. I interacted with my french and he in English. It was such a wonderful experience that I returned this evening. so I’m treating myself again to supper at Le Petite Marcel is across from my apartment. Tonight I ordered 50 cl of Saint Joseph, a classic Rhone. L’entre was leaks in vinaigrette. Le plat principal rumsteck served with jasmine infused rice with violet flowers, fresh ginger and salad. I enjoyed pleasant conversation with an American fellow seated across from me and two exceptionally nice french men who enjoyed my French and I their English. Perfect friendly service entertaining conversation and location and all for 73€. I highly recommend this...
