We spent the morning and early afternoon exploring Le Louvre. Looking for a place to sit andget out of the damp, cold, weather, we stumbled upon Le Relais du Louvre. A typical Paris brasserie, in that it was warm and the staff was friendly. The menu was packed with plenty of common French dishes, along with some suprising plates that are worth exploring. For starters, the fois gras was typical, the French onion soup was delicious, as was the Ɠufs mayonaise. We ordered a variety of dishes between the 5 of us. Each was well prepared and served beautifully. It is worth a stop just to check out the daily specials on the blackboard. I ordered the Morteau au lentils which was exceptional. The sausage was delicious and the lentils were perfectly cooked. For dessert we went traditional and had creme brulee flambe. Needless to say, it did not disappoint. Perfect custard, the sugar was not overly blackened, and the flavor was divine. Despite the awesome food, the best part of our lunch was the service. Elodie the hostess, server, cashier, etcetera, was a delight. Prompt, knowledgeable, and courteous, she effortlessly glided between tables, taking care of every need and question. Obviously being this close to the Louvre you know the patronage is mostly comprised of tourists. In many cafĂ©s we have visited over the years, the service reflects the disdain for tourists. There were times when I had to check and make sure there was not more than one of her. She was that efficient and made our lunch that much better. If you have a choice of typical French fare, in a typical French cafĂ©, seek out Le Relais du Louvre for the...

One star is too good for this place. Came in to dodge the storm, warm up and get a glass of wine. I think the storm would have been better.

You’d think they’d want my service since the brassier was barely empty. We came in and were sat in the corner away from anyone else, not even on comfortable seats. Clearly that means “we don’t want desired customers to see you in our establishment”.

Before I even had two-sips of my wine I was handed the bill and a little plate of pretzels; dry and stale. Too bad, it was at this moment I was considering a French onion soup to enjoy with my wine. Well, I guess the choice was made for me.

it’s an unfortunate, but in the event you’re looking for a place to relax, have a glass of wine and seek refuge during a storm, pick the storm; it’s colder in here. The wine was delicious though;...

Very bad experience. The service was horrible, they were very un polite. We waited for long before serving us and when the waitress arrived we asked if it was possible to have some options for us because allergic to dairy, the waitress said just “no” (we spoke in french so there weren’t language issues but just being un polite). We asked for the allergens list and again she said “no”. They don’t have it, which is a big problem for people with allergies or intolerance, and in general because you don’t know what you are eating. Above all the prices were very high (8€ for a plate pf french fries???). We left the place and went to a close restaurant since it’s a street full of nice restaurants, with lower prices and very much better service!!! Looked like they...

We ducked into this place for lunch after our (1st) morning visit to the Louvre. Located on a busy corner street it was a great respite from the downpour of rain & crowded street. The service couldn't have been more friendly & accommodating. I have food allergies & they stepped up to provide me with the most fresh & vibrant salad. We were a group of four & everyone thoroughly enjoyed their lunches as well (onion soup & 2 Croque Monsieur sandwiches.) I highly recommend making a stop for a bite to eat here. Safe travels everyone!
