Our fault: there are two hotels at different ends of St Honore. We thought we were booking one but mistakenly booked here. But since we were there one night out of three ( we simply moved out even though we had pre-paid) you should know that when they say the room is small it is Really SMALL. No room to open suitcase but on the bed (and there were two of us), no room to maneuver, hardly two feet between end of bed and outside wall and finally, we had a Courtyard View which was just a light shaft with a view of the slanted roof up to the ventilation shafts of this and other buildings. They had dressed it up with a wooden grate and fake shrubbery. There was even a pair of socks outside the window from a previous guests. The room behind the desk which you access from the lobby to get to the bathroom has an out of service fountain, dead plants in planters and a bucket with a mop. This gets a one star for the room. Staff were accommodating. No problem with them. But the Room was certainly not what was advertised. As I said, my mistake in booking this instead of the other one but if it had worked for me I probably would have stayed put and not eaten two nights cost of lodging. Wish I could post a photo of...
Read moreIt could be a nice hotel. But for just quick one night stay I have experienced 3 issues. I was given key to room that wasn’t ready. Okay, we all people and can make mistakes- receptionist quickly provided another room that was almost clean. 2. Around 10pm someone (by mistake?) opened my room with their key card when I was inside. So be ready for surprise visits- apparently keycards in this hotel can open any door. 3. And finally- during checkout in the morning another receptionist asked if I intend to take train to the airport. I said yes. He said- oh, train doesn’t run directly these days, construction etc., and I will have to take transfers and bus and inconvenient bla bla bla, that’s why he said lots of hotels guests requested paid hotel shuttle. 27 euro per person, 37 per 2 persons. When convenient direct train costs 10 euro. Anyway- he scared me a little with such news but I decided to try my chance with train anyway and get Uber in case of urgency. And guess what- trains were running perfectly and directly to CDG airport, every 7-10 minutes. Châtelet station is just 5 minutes away from the hotel. And “nice” guy wanted to make some extra money and scam tourists. Usual...
Read moreThe only reason this hotel gets 3 stars is the location. Otherwise, no way this is a 3 star hotel. Check in was fast & uneventful. Staff were friendly throughout. The room was small, as are apparently all hotel rooms in Paris. The pictures on the website & TripAdvisor must be quite old or touched up , as the rooms were far older than they appeared. It was clean, but looked grubby. The walls has scuff marks all over them. Tea & coffee were left out, but there was no milk, even though there was a small fridge. Bathroom was small too. Hairdryer was awful. Our flight was late into Paris & late out, & the hotel held our bags after checking out which I know is kind of standard, but was still appreciated. Luckliy we were gone early in the morning & spent most of the day out discovering Paris which left very little time to be reminded amount the room. We didn't do breakfast in the hotel, as it was €14 pp for croissants & coffee, which is available anywhere for half the cost. But I did have a stroll down to the cavernous breakfast room &...
