I really don't know how this place got all the good reviews but this place is definitely not for anyone who knows about Chinese food or just food in general. The ingredients are all from poor quality, mostly frozen. The prawn cheung fun was completely tasteless (came straight out of freezer), same for the ha gow (steamed) prawn dumplings. The vegetarian rice noodle was of very poor quality. I eat the same dish in a few places in this area and they are all better and cheaper. The infamous xiao long bao (soup dumpling) was made on spot as you can see a pretended chef making them by the window. But seriously...The skin is so thick, you are full after one. If you know what a real XLB is, which has fine skin, almost translucent, delicate, you can eat 10 in go easily. There I struggle with one. Also I've never had such a salty but no flavour prawn dumpling soup. There's a lot of pork for tiny bit of prawns. Basically everything seem to be made from cheap and slightly unfresh un frozen ingredients. If I need to find one positive thing about this place is it's comfortable. Not crowded (with reason) and decently clean (on the surface). If you don't care about what you eat, it's the place for you. If you are a food lover, RUN....and go somewhere in the area. There are plenty better ones...
Read moreUnfortunately what let this place down the most was the customer service. The woman that served us was rude and didn't really want take our order as we didn't speak French and only English. We were happy to just point at what we wanted and that's what we ended up doing. When the food came the sizzling Aubergine came out still borderline cold, when you expected it to be sizzling. Then the pork and steamed rice came to the table cold. We also did our best to explain to the woman that we just wanted Sweet and Sour sauce on its own even pointing at the sweet and sour pork dish but emphasising NO PORK! JUST SAUCE! It's fair to say this was a communication barrier and we would have been happy with that but the woman shouted at us in French and started just throwing random sauces onto the table whilst still shouting in French and getting upset with us.
Our Valentines evening was ruined by the person serving us. The only good thing about the place was the chicken feet and the Prawn and chive dumpling. Other than that it was a disappointing...
Read moreI would give it ZERO STARS due to terrible customer service! Restaurant was so crowded and when we finally were seated we noticed a table getting up because they hadn’t been helped yet. We ordered our food and waited a long time, even tables who ordered well after us were getting their food! One of the waiter boys brought our order to the table behind us and said it wasn’t ours but we could tell it was the exact dish we ordered then he brought it back to the kitchen since the table behind us said it wasn’t what they ordered. We got up and left, the waitresses said it was because they have different stations preparing food and we ordered different things that took more time but we ordered the same dimsum dumplings as everyone before AND after us so we did not even get to eat here due to TERRIBLE service. This was at 9:20 pm as well so this was no excuse! We went to a restaurant down the street at the late hour and they were...
