We started the evening by waiting outside of the restaurant with about 10 other people. When we were brought inside we were shown to a cramp corner right next to another table, never have I been so close to other people in a restaurant. The restaurant was only one floor and all of the tables we very close and rammed in together. Before eating I went to the restroom and was greeted by a low ceiling and very dark lighting. Not to mention I had to ask two people to stand up just to get there. We got our menus and I was very excited as I thought that the food looked good. I had picked something out after five minutes and I was feeling like the evening was going to change for the better. Little did I know that it would take a full 30 MINUTES to even order my food. I was only able to get my starter after a full hour of waiting. I was very disappointed. When my full meal arrived I was taken aback by how large it was. Even to an American I saw it as massive. I had ordered the lamb shoulder and I was exited to eat it until I saw it. Half of my plate was vegetables and the whole lamb shoulder was 90 percent fat or bone. I am still processing this full experience so for anyone who has read the full review I advise you DO...
Read moreMy partner and I visited and dined at this restaurant just 250m from our hotel in the Le Maris district. We chose the restaurant for the Moroccan food which we love and its nearness to our hotel. We were stunned by the quality of the food and the great atmosphere in the main dining room.
We shared the Salade de Zaalouk which was composed of aubergines, tomatoes with garlic. Excellent flavors in a composed mixture. For a main dish, we shared the Tagine a la souris of lamb with apricot. We ordered a side of couscous and it was very fluffy and light and was a perfect accompaniment to the Tagine. It was delicious with nice grilled flavors and the sweet sauce marrying very well with the savory lamb and the excellent couscous. We thought we should order more and chose the brochette of chicken and vegetables. However, this was more than we needed and we took it back to our hotel for a picnic the next day at the Jardin du Luxembourg.
We highly recommend Le 404 if you are adventurous and like...
Read moreVery very very loud music, more suitable for a night club then for a restaurant. For a whole evening I had difficulties listening to my partner and had to make an effort to speak loud so he can hear me, sometimes i could not even hear myself. Despite asking them twice to lower down the music, the volume never changed. It was very uncomfortable to eat in such an atmosphere. Besides, we had to wait really long to get our order taken and in the end had to explicitely ask the waitor to make an order; same happened for the desert and tea, which we waited for 20 mins and had to remind them; even to ask for the bill and pay was painful as it took ages. People next to us were unhappy as the waitress confused their order and a couple on the other side was dissapointed to wait for 30 mins for tea. On the bright side the portions of...
