Le Royal Orsay — Restaurant in Paris

Short Story: AVOID this place, unless you like being disrespected, and want to end up sick...

Long Story: Staff was rude, and mocked us in French, which we understood, and just shrugged off at first. Coffee was terrible, stale and very weak. 1 of the 3 Crepes we shared was ok, and edible, the second tasted a little off, the last of which we couldn't finish, it just was foul. Waiter complained to us when he got the order wrong for drinks, 1 coffee and 1 coke for 2 people, and yet he brought 3 drinks... Not a big deal at all, but he then threw up his hands and complained to his collogues that Americans can't do anything right in French, which again we both understood, and laughed at considering we both ordered 1 single drink and he decided to bring 3. Once he realized we understood French, they stopped openly talking about us, but were still whispering and laughing from the counter the entire time we ate. We were the only people in the place (should have been a red flag) After we left I realized they overcharged us for everything extra drink, charged us for water we never asked for and which was also tap water and charged 6+ Euro, but I guess that is on me for not really looking or caring, but they blatantly ripped us off like scumbags. We also both got violently ill stomachs a few hours later that day (without having eaten anything else between then). I have zero doubt it was from this establishment, and I question if it was intentional based on the smack talking from the staff. Avoid this place, there is so many good establishments around there is no reason to ever have to deal with...

This place has awful service. It’s just the worst. I would give it 0 if I could. The staff are so racist and unpleasant. We walked in and were completely ignored from the outset, so we waited, and then decided to go to sit after being ignored for several minutes. We were then recognised and told to wait and provide passes to go in, they didn’t even look at them, and then told us to go sit upstairs. My partner is French, and so understood when they ridiculed us as we were making our way upstairs. We sat at a very dirty table and so after being ignored again, proceeded to move the plates off our table to the next door one which was empty, and then conveniently recognised, and shouted at for moving them since the table was ‘clean’. We did make clear that it wasn’t and the waiter walked off laughing. From then we decided to leave as it was just ridiculous and were again ridiculed in French by the bar staff. Absolutely atrocious. Save your time and do not go this place. Rude, racist and unpleasant egoistical individuals. No one should be treated like this no matter whether you’re a tourist...

Terrible service!! Racial discrimination. I ordered a croissant breakfast set. Later, three white people came in and ordered three croissants (the same as me). The waitress brought them coffee, juice, and chocolate croissants and asked me if I could have the chocolate croissant instead. I said no, I wanted a croissant. She then changed mine. After a while, she served the three white people two croissants and one chocolate croissant, telling them there were only two croissants left and asking if it was okay. They said yes. I was here first and had already placed my order. They came in after me. Why did she directly change mine without asking me first and just bring the chocolate croissant over to ask if it was okay?
