Went to visit this restaurant when I went to paris. The services were fantastic. Waiters came very fast to give out menus and collect plates. The waiters even explained very specifically about the dishes. All the waiters were japanese but was all fluent in both english and french as well. So I would definitely give a 5 out of 5 for services.
The food were AMAZING. It was definitely the best french course dish i’ve ever had in my entire life. They gave me a sweet potato starter while i was waiting for my entre. For my entre, i had a white fish tartar. It was decorated so nicely and had a tartar, cheese cream and mint taste along with it. I could enjoy multiple flavours using these chosen sauce. (I would definitely recommend this dish if you like sushi) For my main, I had a pork belly. The meat was so soft and the sauce went perfectly well with the pork. Also, they had a small amount of risotto on the side which i absolutely loved. And lastly for my desert, i had a strawberry/rhubarb desert. The base was so crispy and the whipped cream on top was so light and fenomenal. It had a fresh strawberry and rhubarb on the side which gave away another fantastic dish. If you are considering to go to this restaurant when you visit Paris, definitely go. I do recommend you to make a reservation quickly because this is indeed a popular...
Read moreI’ve been in Paris for a week doing nothing but walking and spending a lot (A LOT) of money on food. I’ve hit the high-end (read: touristy) spots, a bunch of local favorites, and quite a few hidden gems recommended by fellow food enthusiasts who love food as much as I do.
This place? It came from an offhand recommendation from a friend: “Oh, you’re staying near this cute little spot we love—if you have time, check it out…”
It ended up being the best meal I’ve had in Paris. Maybe everyone else was having an off week, or maybe the squash blossoms were just especially fresh at the market... but this place is on track for serious recognition in the next few years. Every dish was balanced, thoughtful, inventive, and gastronomically impressive without being trite or trying too hard. Maybe it’s on me for not reading more rave reviews ahead of time, but wow. Just… Wow.
From a seriously jaded foodie who never writes restaurant reviews online: Hats off to the chef. I truly hope I get to eat your food again soon. Actually, maybe I'll stop by for lunch tomorrow.
PS - Unsolicited advice if you're reading this: the waitstaff was excellent. As for the dining room—could use a little ambiance but keep it true to your vision. Stay small, stay in the kitchen, and don’t fall for investors. You got this as...
Read moreThis restaurant seems popular so I went with expectations. Staffs were helpful and friendly but food was disappointing.
I ordered a chef’s menu which is a 75 euro for 6 course (2 starters, 2 mains, 2 desserts) I don’t have a sweet tooth so I asked I could have 3 starters 2 mains and 1 dessert instead, they said ok.
I was told chefs menu will be based on the menu, so I let the chef choose for me, I believe it would be a good experience based on what I saw on the menu. But when my starter came, it’s a dish with an egg, some avocado and fennel, It’s so far from what I saw on the menu, and it’s nothing special, anyone could prepare the same thing at home.
I don’t hate egg or avocado per ce, but I was told one thing, and got another, and it’s nothing special as a dish. I immediately felt tricked. I did not expect this from Japanese so that’s even more disappointing.
I had way way way better food in restaurant Montée which is also run by Japanese. It’s a great 6 course for 105 euro. I gave them an extra 15% as tip as food was exceptional and well prepared by heart, it makes me respect the Japanese craftsmanship spirit.
Compared to Montée this is nothing special and I felt tricked by the egg avocado...
