Full Review: A Sweet Adventure at Maison Louvard
This patisserie surprises and delights with its spacious interior, divided into a main area showcasing their tempting array of sweet treats and an extensive seating area. The well-decorated space is further enhanced by doors that open to the street, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor experience. This thoughtful design allows patrons to enjoy their treats while soaking in the ambiance of both the interior and the surrounding area.
The staff contribute significantly to the positive experience. Their friendliness, attentiveness, and willingness to explain the intricacies of their pastries demonstrate a commitment to customer satisfaction. The quick service ensures that patrons can dive into their chosen treats without unnecessary delay.
The journey began with the crookie, a decadent fusion of croissant and cookie. This treat was a symphony of sweetness, flakiness, and rich chocolate flavors. The use of dark chocolate provided a pleasant bitterness to balance the overall sweetness, though the richness might be a bit heavy for some.
The strawberry taco was a delightful contrast to the crookie's richness. This innovative creation offered a medley of textures - a crisp biscuit shell, fresh macerated strawberries, and a luscious custard cream binding it all together. The lightness and freshness of this pastry provided a welcome palate cleanser.
However, the true star of the show was undoubtedly the citron tart. This masterpiece of patisserie showcased the skill and creativity of the pastry chefs. The impossibly soft and airy meringue, given a slight crunch by sugar grains, sat atop a soft yet buttery biscuit base. The citron creme, hiding a passion fruit surprise within, was a revelation of complex flavors. The interplay between the tart lemon and the sweet, tropical tang of passion fruit created a harmonious blend that elevated the entire dessert.
The iced tea served as an excellent accompaniment, helping to reset the palate between bites of the sweet treats and preventing flavor fatigue.
This establishment stands out not just for its exceptional pastries, but for the thought put into every aspect of the dining experience. From the spacious and inviting interior to the knowledgeable staff and, of course, the innovative and expertly crafted pastries, it offers a complete package.
For those with a sweet tooth or an appreciation for fine patisserie, this is a must-visit destination. The citron tart alone is worth the trip, but don't miss out on exploring their other creative offerings. Just be prepared for a potential sugar overload - though with pastries this good, it's a risk...
Read moreWe got here since it was shown in IG reel for its crookie (croissant cookie). Once we get in, we were asked to sit if we want to dine in. We tried to sit at the back, but unfortunately it was reserved (the whole section). The lady with braided hair asked as to find another sitting and wait. While we were standing, she was busy with other stuff while avoiding eye contact.
Finally her coworker helped us (the lady with glasses) for a table and cleared up seats for us. Hence the second star ratings (extra star).
Unfortunately the braided lady took our orders. The written menu is different from what they offer on display. We asked her whether these are all they have (lacking options) first she said “oui”. We were confused as all other were ordering pastry from display. When I asked can we order from the front, she said “oui”. Why didnt she told us from the start?
We ordered : Croque monsieur (crispy toast and generous filling). Its recommended. Mushroom quiche (tasty and savoury, ample portion). Avocado salmon and jambon cheese baguette (both baguette are rock hard, very scarce fillings). Totally stupid for us to order. Ham and cheese panini, grilled to perfection. 3 crookie (overated. Instead of having the best of cookie and croissant, we got subpar croissant and moist cookie, not chewy, but more like underbaked). Hot choco (just like any other cafe instant choco) Jasmine tea (pretty good). Pain au chocolate (she forgot)
The amazing stuff was when we got our savoury pastry and non of the sweets. When we asked, she said, she forgot the orders. She wrote it in front of us and she forgot it. Well done. Then she brought all the sweets, 3 crookie. No pain au chocolate. We couldnt be bothered to tell her about it.
Highlights of this diner is when we paid, they charged us 6 crookie, then they revised it and we paid. Unfortunately we forgot to check the pain au chocolte, and surprise, it was there. When we asked for refund, they said all transactions are final and offered the take away bag. Worst 72 euros we spent.
Notes : Not tourist friendly. If u dont speak french, dont bother. Do not get served by the braided lady. If you’re crazy about crookie, then try it. U can get better pastry at other places with much cheaper and friendlier place...

We have never received such poor customer service in our lives. It is such a shame, because visiting Maison Louvard has been on our itinerary for our Paris trip for a while and we were really looking forward to visiting.
My partner has a nut allergy. We went into Maison Louvard at around 3pm on Tuesday 10th June. It all felt very rushed and hectic. I speak a little bit of French, so I tried to converse with the female server in French to order the Crookie. I could see that the Crookie had a sign displaying its allergens, and that it contains hazelnuts.
My partner separately asked for a plain croissant. Before he could mention his allergy, she put his dessert in the same bag as mine, which contained hazelnuts. She hadn’t actually even picked up the croissant, but instead a square pastry that looked like it had flaky nuts on top. Again, this was so rushed and happened within seconds that, as we were trying to explain and be heard by the server (a young-ish woman with dark hair), she passed the bag with both pastries to the man on the till.
This man was even more rude and dismissive. He just wouldn’t listen to us. I tried explaining, in both English and French, that we could not take both pastries as the normal croissant had been cross contaminated by being placed in the same bag as the one that contained hazelnuts. He got very exacerbated and then passed us back onto the female server, just stopping talking to us to serve the couple behind. It was so abrupt and rude. The female server was then also very blunt and the pair acted like we were an annoyance despite that the mistake had been made by them rushing and not listening to us.
I never leave negative Google reviews, but I just had to share this poor experience as I know how hard it is when you’re travelling to a new place with a life threatening allergy, and we rely on reviews like these to inform our decisions.
The Crookie was actually nice, but nothing breathtaking and certainly not worth 5 euros. Very overhyped as it is viral, have had nicer at The French Bastards.
Overall very disappointing - Maison Louvard, please help your staff to do better with...
