I recently had the pleasure of visiting Mamiche, and I must say it's an absolute gem in the heart of Paris. This bakery is a haven for pastry enthusiasts, and I can confidently claim that they serve the best babka in the world!
Upon entering the bakery, you are greeted by the tantalizing aroma of freshly baked goodies. The selection of treats is simply mouthwatering. One of my personal favorites is their galettes, crafted with the choicest fruits of the season and a perfect pie crust that melts in your mouth with every bite.
The highlight of Mamiche is undoubtedly their babka. Every morsel of this scrumptious treat is a burst of chocolate flavor and a testament to the art of baking at its finest. Whether you pair it with a cup of coffee or enjoy it on its own, the babka is a delightful journey for your taste buds.
The staff at Mamiche are not only skilled in their craft but also incredibly friendly and welcoming. Their passion for baking is evident, and they go the extra mile to ensure every customer has a memorable experience.
Mamiche has earned its reputation, and the line of locals and tourists outside the bakery is a testament to that. If you find yourself waiting in line, don't fret; the delightful treats awaiting you inside are more than worth it! My recommendation is to visit Mamiche early to ensure you have the opportunity to savor all their wonderful delights.
This Paris bakery is a must-visit for foodies and dessert lovers alike. Whether it's the outstanding babka, delectable galettes, or any of their other mouthwatering treats, you simply can't go wrong with anything...
Read morevisited mamiche twice during my three day trip to paris! a lot of people rave about their croissants and baked goods being some of the best in paris so i had to go and check it out for myself!
// location/store // located a bit away from the center of the city, but i was staying close to mamiche. the shop is small and on a corner, i went once on wednesday 4pm and there was no queue (some pastries were sold out but still had a lot of options) and once on saturday 11:00am (small line but goes quite fast since they are efficient). all of the pastries and baked goods are on display and there are many employees to help you (they speak English). there is also a 3 euro card minimum but that is not hard to meet!
// pain au chocolate (1.60) // i tried this twice! i ate them later in the day so they got a bit hard, but in the morning they are more fresh and light. they also are very buttery (you really can taste it). i felt that they are lacking in the chocolate filling though since there was little in it.
// chocolate babka (2.80) // all of the reviews raved about the babka so i had to try it! you can get a whole loaf or also pay by the slice. we got a small slice for around 2.80. i really liked it! it was chocolate marble and reminded me of chocolate raisin bread i had as a kid. i've never had babka before but it was quite yummy.
overall, a friendly boulangerie with lots of pastries and good prices. everything looks delicious and fresh. would...
Read moreMan this place set the standard so high, that we had no choice but to return and ended up visiting several times. We tried other competitors once and it was fine, but after having superb, you can't settle for 'fine' 😅 The texture of the bread here is unmatched. The pain aux raisins deserves special note for its crispy exterior and moist, doughy middle. The last few times, there were far too many raisins, and they were soggy and slimy, which was disappointing. The croissants stayed consistent. And the pain suisse is flaky, crispy, buttery, and chocolatey—perfect. Another must-try is the choux, which my sister and I fought over. 😅 I want to note that our experiences varied because we visited at different times of the day. At 8 a.m., there was no line, and we got the best pastries. If you go after 10, expect a line; after 12, we didn't find the greatest quality
Despite the crowd, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The price is actually fair for the quality. The wait...
