People talk about the dishes being authentic. I don't know about that, since I haven't tried them in China, but they do indeed feel homey, if your home was somewhere in Xi'an. This was a good break from the ramen! Super nice hand-cut Chinese noodles with a nice mixed of braised beef and veggies. I had it with the broth and that really was a nice touch. Careful with the chili! It goes for 1 to 3 in strength and 2 was already up there… and I like eating spicy hot.

I also had the sliced meat and the marinated cucumber for starters. They were both very nice but the cucumber was certainly better.

I got takeout (and appetizer while I waited) last night and it was a top tier experience. Not only was the man who took my order unusually warm and welcoming, the food was just crazy good. I had the cold chicken appetizer swimming in this chili oil sauce that I wound up dumping in my Biang Biang noodles at home at his urging. But the star was the Pâtes Royales du Chef, which my we got with both bœuf braisé and the travers de porc, XL noods, and level two spice. I could eat it every day of my life.
