Vermillon — Restaurant in Paris

Great neighborhood spot! I felt very welcome and everyone was so friendly. We tried three small things this time and will return to try more. The eggplant was especially delicious. Always love seeing anchovies on a menu. Yum! The broccolini had a little too much batter on it for my taste. The romescu sauce on it was tasty. Nice wine selection. This place is the best restaurant I have been to in all of Paris. I am an American and have been to Paris many many times and have been to hundreds of restaurants here. I have never met an owner more accommodating or had better food (even the fine dining restaurants). Also, if you want a truly French experience that is not a tourist trap, with workers that speak English this is your place. Exit Blanche Metro, avoid the Moulin Rouge and head 200 metres downhill towards L’Opera. This vibey little restaurant is on a corner and coloured green - not at all vermillion. We were there at lunch and the food, atmosphere and service were all first class. Run by three very busy chaps (at least 2 the owners), it was the best meal I have had on this visit.
