WARNING TOURIST TRAP!!! Service was extremely bad and food not worth their absurd pricing!!! People smoking & vaping at the other tables, while we were still eating!
We arrived at the restaurant, first waited 30 minutes for a table, then an additional 30 minutes to get a waiters attention. This waiter told us half of the menu is not even available, then we had to wait again 20-30 minutes until I stopped someone to take our order as we where all very hungry! When asked to at least put some bread on the table, we where told that they will not do this until we had ordered our courses. What's that about?! On top of everything, it was STALE ready-to-bake-off- bread that you buy in the supermarket. Then only 3 of the 5 starters were served, we had to ask for the other 2 missing starters, we received them after 20 minutes and they did NOT even apologize or anything! One of the starters was Burrata, Melon, Flaked Almonds, BUT they served Burrata with just some cherry tomatoes! Because there were no meat dishes available, except for the luxury Kobe Beef of course, we ordered 1 sea bass for 2 people. To give a full picture, this was steamed sea bass, served with absolutely nothing, unless of course you would order vegetables or mashed potatoes ( again a ready-to-serve mousseline puree from the supermarket). To then find out when presented with the bill, that they charge you 221 € for this plain Steamed Sea bass without any garnish or sauce. Unbelievable how they dare to charge such prices, just because they are located near the 'Arc de Triomphe'?!
Only the live singer and DJ were good, except for that it was absolutely not worth the money! And yes it's true, they want 150€/ Person as a minimum spend. Be warned!! Wish we had looked at these reviews first! Better off closing their cocktail and restaurant part and just turn it into a nightclub!
@ Charlotte from Victoria, I am sorry for you that you need to reply to every single bad review repeating the same thing over and over again. There's no reason to charge 221€ for a simple fish that comes without any garnish, and especially as it was not even prepared in any special way. If that bread came from the best bakery in Paris, it must have been laying around for a a week. That bread was old, and we could barely chew on it without breaking our teeth! Perhaps try the food yourself and then reply to people's...
Read moreI recently visited Victoria Restaurant in Paris with a friend, and while there were some great aspects to our evening, a few disappointing moments made the experience less enjoyable.
Starting with the positives, the welcoming service was very friendly. Upon arrival, we were seated at a table next to DJ, which was quite uncomfortable. However, when we asked to be moved, the staff was very accommodating and quickly found us another table, which we really appreciated. The food was another highlight—the dishes were amazing, with generous portions that made for a satisfying meal. The atmosphere was elegant, though the music was quite loud, making it difficult to have a conversation.
Unfortunately, the service for drinks left much to be desired. The wine list did not display prices for wine by the glass, only for bottles. When we asked if they served wine by the glass, one waiter told us no, only by the bottle. However, we later noticed other guests drinking wine by the glass. We asked another staff member, who confirmed that wine by the glass was available, but even then, we had to insist on knowing the price, which was still not listed anywhere on the menu.
The most disappointing part of the experience came later in the evening. At around midnight, the staff informed us that there was a minimum spend of €150 per person, something that had never been mentioned when we made our 8:30 PM reservation. We were told this minimum applies only to reservations after 10 PM, which was clearly not our case. When we questioned this sudden charge, the staff member simply responded with “I don’t know,” which is an unacceptable answer from a team that should be well-informed about their restaurant’s policies. Given the lack of prior notice, we refused to comply and paid only for what we had consumed before leaving.
Overall, while the food and initial hospitality were excellent, the poor communication regarding pricing and the unexpected minimum charge significantly impacted our experience. This restaurant has great potential, but transparency and service consistency need...
Read moreI booked this restaurant a few weeks in advance, we were coming to Paris to celebrate my friend’s birthday. In the morning of that day I’ve got a text message from the restaurant that my reservation is at 20:00, but we have to leave the table at 10:00!! Can you imagine?? Just two hours for the birthday celebration! I didn’t have time to find another restaurant, because I knew that they have DJ at night and I basically didn’t have time to find another one. The food was pretty good, but the stuff was terrible! The waiters had face expression like we came there to eat for free! And I would definitely fire the hostess /administrator of that restaurant, if I was the owner! When I was talking to her trying to figure out what exactly happened and if we can pay extra just to stay there, she told me not to raise my voice at her!! It was so rude, because I was talking to her absolutely normally! And yes, the birthday celebration was just for two hours, we paid more than €600 for 4 people and they asked us to leave the table! I live in Miami, so we have tons of amazing restaurants! Also I have been in great places in Milan, London, Moscow, etc and I can tell that the service in this place is the worst! It was the worst choice to celebrate birthday there!! By the way, the DJ was just ok there, they could do better! Never coming there again! I have never been treated that bad! So, for me it was the worst...
