Very disappointing. We dined here on a rainy Monday as the restaurant was packed full which we thought would be a good sign. We had to help ourselves to menus and whilst waiting to be served overheard diners politely informing the owner of the poor service and cold food they had received. The owner’s response was impolite and offensive declaring that “the one thing about the English is that they love to complain”. Other tables around us also said they were going to make similar complaints. We chose to sit inside and were served by two very nice and polite waiters. Service was quick inside, however we were shocked when we reached into our bread bowl to find the bottom of the bread soaked in rain water. It had clearly been taken from another diner’s table and reused for us. As we were sat behind a service area we witnessed the waiters clear tables, fishing out unused bread and re filling new bowls for new tables. This put me off my food as my chips also seemed like a bowl of odd ends of chips and like they were recooked. I didn’t fancy eating the rest of my main. The restaurant was a mess with dirty tables and lots of opened wine boxes tucked behind the staircase. The general manner of the owner was unpleasant as we overheard lots of comments about his experience at top restaurants but had a complete lack of acceptance that the restaurant had unhappy customers. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone as there are plenty of others nearby which are far more enjoyable. The only good thing was the...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I both went to Bistro Des Anges for lunch last Saturday and had a lovely experience! We was visiting from London and was recommended this particular restaurant by friends who had previously been.
The staff was very accommodating and asked us where we would like to sit , either outside on the terrace or inside the restaurant; we chose to sit outside to admire the view of the cathedral!
Located within the champagne region there was lots of choice of wines , champagne , cocktails both non alcoholic and with alcohol & beer to choose from. Both the owners of the restaurant are clearly clued up on which wine or champagne to choose, which helped us out a lot as we wanted to try something new.
For starters we ordered the salmon tartare for to share, I had the vegetarian pad tai and my boyfriend ordered the ‘cote de boeuf’. The steak was cooked perfectly and my pad tai was so tasty and refreshing. I pinch a couple of chips of his plate as they were freshly cut cooked chips!
The atmosphere within the restaurant was very friendly and pleasant, and it is nice to see that the owners come around to check up on the guest.
Overall an excellent experience in the Bistro Des Anges, both service and food was incredible!! Would 100%...
Read moreUnfortunately we did not get the same treatment as everybody here in the review section. As a matter of fact we walked away without ordering. Something about us the waiter did not like.. We asked if we could have something to eat, since it was not 19h we could not. Okay. No problem. When I asked which wine he would recommend he just ignored me and started talking to other customers after laughing at me for not ordering champagne. When we walked away he yelled at us that we could get some frozen food somewhere down the street.. strange behavior. Incredibly rude, no...
