I was very disappointed with this place for the second time. I usually don't write negative reviews but I really want to warn people about how bad this place is. We came on a Sunday night, they had crammed all the customers in a tiny corner of the restaurant (to save some cleaning time, fair enough). Then the waiter takes our order and we wait, he brings the drinks, we wait some more and then he comes back to us saying he's sorry but he forgot to send the order to the kitchen (fine, mistakes do happen after all). So we order again and he says he'll make it his top priority... then some more waiting... and a good 25min after (1hour in total) we finally get our dishes: over cooked fish'n chips which I ate because I was hungry. In my girlfriend's plateau de pub, the bread in the welsh was black! Completely burnt! The croque monsieur was cold and tasteless and so was the Caesar salad's dressing and chicken. In front of such mediocrity we stood up and went to pay at the counter. Now comes the cherry on the cake: the bill was 39.50€ so I ask to split it and the guy hands me the machine for 20€ ! Now I know 0.50€ is no grounds to start a war but for the principals I just couldn't accept it (if anything I expected a discount). Now for the serious warning about this place: as soon as we got home my girlfriend was struck with a sudden tummy ache and diarrhea (now I'm no doctor so I can't be 100% sure that it's linked but the coincidence struck me). THIS PLACE IS THE WORST IN MY EXPERIENCE IN REIMS. And to think that there are so many places nearby which are less expensive, with better food, and a real service only minutes from the cathedral in every direction. For the record I'm French and I've lived in Reims for 6 years now. I'm writing this in English because I don't want you to fall in that...
Read moreAbsolutely Awful – A Steak Disaster and a Total Rip-Off I rarely leave reviews, but my experience at [Au Bureau] was so appallingly bad that I felt compelled to warn others. I went in hoping for a decent meal, but what I got was a masterclass in how not to cook a steak, coupled with the bitter taste of wasted money. I ordered the , requesting it medium-rare. What arrived was a tragic, grey slab of something vaguely beef-like, cremated to a dry, leathery crisp. It was beyond well-done; it was an insult to cows everywhere. There was no hint of pink, no juiciness – just a tough, flavorless piece of meat that chewing gum would envy for its resilience. I tried to salvage it with some salt and pepper, but it was beyond redemption. Every bite was a chore, and honestly, I've had more tender shoe leather. To add insult to injury, this culinary abomination cost a fortune. I paid for this "steak," and I genuinely feel robbed. It's not just that the food was terrible; it's that I parted with my hard-earned money for something that should never have left the kitchen. The side dishes were forgettable at best, offering no solace from the main event's catastrophe. Save your money and your taste buds. There are countless other restaurants where you can get a properly cooked steak and feel like your money was well-spent. Avoid [Au Bureau] at all costs unless you enjoy being disappointed and...
Read moreLook, It's convenient and they sell a good illusionist of what you might get but the food is literally disgusting all around, the food is over priced and honestly they really are banking only on the huge beers they serve and the location to the Cathedral. We were excited because we saw a Veggie Burger, and the menu was in English, on the menu it lists all of these great sounding ingredients and the picture next to it really sells you. And the presentation isn't the worst either, but when you take a bit of it you realize that the patty is literally just a two inch thick wheel of cheese. Just. Straight cheese. That's the meal. And look, if you can justify putting that into your body go ahead, but on on some level that's just wrong to serve another human being that. We also ordered two salads with chicken. And the chicken was cold and un freshly fried, and then drowned in dressing and cheese. The quesadilla was mediocre, with weird white sauce and cold cheese-not-cheese. The mocktails were not what were pictured at all on the menu. Wouldn't recommended. But I will say that the wait staff was super nice and considerate and were pretty wonderful when it came to dealing with all the English. They're fantastic, but boy do they need to get a better job were they can feel good about...
