UNAPPROPRIATE BEHAVOUR AND BAD QUALITY, DON'T GO Comportamento inappropriato e qualità pessima, non andate
We went to Harold for a family lunch the day after Easter and in order to do so I made an online reservation at 13.30 (they even ask you for your credit card details in case you don't show up). Little did we know that:
Once arrived at 13.30 we had to wait more than 20 minutes to get inside and sit at the reserved table; On the menù shown outside there Is clearly written that if you choose the dish of the day you can create your own menù for a discounted price but the waitress said It was not possible; We asked for a Beuf Filet but It was over already (It was lunch not even dinner); We asked for the only burger that they have on their menù but they did not have One of the main ingredients to prepare It and did not provide any alternative ingridient even After being asked to do so.
After ordering, the food comes and we noticed two main things:
Quantity was abundant; Quality was lacking as well as clarity.
In fact, among the disappointing dishes like the burger itself and the Beuf entrecote - which was half boiled and overcooked (see picture), there was a main course - a salad - in which horseradish was overwhelmingly prevalent.
Nothing wrong you'd say. Only thing Is that It was not mentioned at all in the menù and it's a strong flavour, therefore you have to provide such information to clients who May not appreciate It
No problem though, we asked to change It for a regular salad without extra herbs or spices and they brought It right After. Little did we know that:
When asking for the bill, the owner did not even bother to bring us the receipt, trying to fool US in paying directly on the pos machine; The guy brought the bill in the end but It was including not only the full price of the burger (there was a missing unsubstituted ingredient) but also the price of the original salad, the One with the horseradish, stating that the One for free was the One we actually ate; 1 Liter of water was 8 euros (not written anywhere on the menù).
If you are asking why we did not make the guy notice all of that, it's on us because It was actually the birthday of 2 people of our family so we did not want to create tension more than necessary. Let me tell you though, please save your money and don't make the same mistake if you go to Reims.

I asked our man for glasses for the water and he says - we are not going to be able to give you the glasses, once you finish your juice you can fill the glass with water, and alternate if you’d like. It’s only because we are trying to avoid waste. First of all - what does food waste have to do with glasses used? Also, flawed logic because they do not count how many mugs you use for coffee and tea! I told him I’d still like a glass as I drink water at the same time. The man had the audacity to tell a paying customer “I’ll make a concession for you and give you a glass for the water!” Great breakfast buffet, good choice of savoury and sweet foods, but is it worth the ridiculousness of this service? Read moreWe arrived hungry without reservations on a weekday at close to 1pm and the place was full. We were advised that a table would be available after close to half an hour. And because the place was full, we reckon this would be the place for us.
And we were so glad that we did. The service was very good. A bit of waiting time but certainly not long, allowed us to talk about how our day was progressing.
All that we ordered, we were very pleased with despite our being unfamiliar with French cuisine.
Top of the list was the fish. 👍🏼👍🏼
The risotto and the duck tartare were definitely high on our list.
The brioche dessert which was a delicious pudding with creamy caramel was the champion item of our meal.
Those who served us were patient and very courteous.
The toilets were good. One of the rare restaurants not in a top hotel where the faucet had hot water.
