Crêperie du Marché — Restaurant in Saint-Malo

Do not eat here if you value your health. This place should be shut down. I don't say this easily, I've eaten many subpar meals in my life but Creperie du Marche is actually unsafe. My wife and I have nearly 50 years of restaurant experience between us, we know what we're talking about. We know how hard the restaurant business is and I don't take reviews like this lightly. Charlatans like the Creperie du Marche only make the business harder for honest operators.

I walked in to the toilet and on the left as you enter there's a storeroom. I witnessed an employee placing a bag of waffles in a puddle of water that could only have come from the toilet. He then picked them up and took them to the kitchen. I thought at that point I should have just paid for our drinks and left, but by the time I got back to the table our food had been served so I chanced it.

My wife had ordered a gallette with andouille sausage, they got the order wrong and she received ham instead. She had pushed the ham aside because in her words "it tastes like infection". I tried the ham and it was absolutely spoiled. The staff were surley and unhelpful.

Seriously, do yourself a favour and give this...

Food was ok for an ok price, we found better places for less. The park has more places one of which better rated cross opposite (L’Ange bleu). There are tons of places all around. The mussels were overpriced concerning they were in season and they are less nearby. They use the “small” mussels whereas others use the medium. Very busy St Malo creperie serving traditional galette and crepes.

Here's what I liked:

• Fast, friendly service • Good quality food • Good value considering the location • Clean loos

Here's what I didn't like:

• Far Breton: way too much cream, ice cream and sprinkles. Took you away from the taste of the traditional dessert.
