Delicious rich buttery pastries local to the Brittany area. I believe it was named as the most butteriest pastry in the whole world by the New York Times a few years back! They were not lying it is absolutely delicious and this particular bakery although in the middle of a tourist hotspot is always busy and provides a product that is genuine to its roots. It seems to be a round multi-layered cake, originally made with bread dough (nowadays sometimes viennoiserie dough), containing layers of butter and incorporated sugar, similar in fashion to puff pastry albeit with fewer layers. Service was fast despite the line and i thoroughly enjoyed my kouign amann. Its crispy and very flavorful, unlike a couple i tasted before from other bakeries that was a bit oily and soft to my taste. I got the normal and the apple one. The apple was definitely my favorite! 💖 You can choose the size of your kouign amann based on how many people you will share it with
