La Cabane — Restaurant in Saint-Malo

Absolutely amazing! At the same price this is probably the best seafood restaurant in town. La Cabane offers an all-you-can-eat buffet at 29€ / person. With an extra of 5€ / person you can have an extra grilled fish of the day, well prepared in a separate dish with baked potatoes. With an extra of 15€ / person you can also have an extra dish of lobster. The buffet offers a variety of choices. On the cold side you have crabs (tourteau, spider crab), oysters, shrimps, sardines, and several kinds of sea shells. On the hot side you have the fish soupe which is amazingly tasty, pastas, grilled oysters with cheese and butter etc. You also have several choices of cheeses and desserts. The freshness of the seafood is top notch. The shrimps actually taste a bit sweet because of the freshness. The crabs are also delicious, with lot of eggs and brown meat. You do need to pay upfront at arrival. But this did not bother me at all. I highly recommend this place to all seafood lovers. Make sure to call in advance to get a reservation: the place will be packed within 1 hour...

Unforgettable Dining Experience at La Cabane

On Sunday night, my partner and I enjoyed what has undoubtedly become our top dining experience in France! From the moment we made our reservation, the impeccable service shone through. The staff were diligent, keeping our table pristine and swiftly clearing away plates and shells throughout the evening.

The fresh seafood buffet, brilliantly anchored by succulent spider crabs and the freshest oysters we've ever had. The selection didn't end there; the choice of desserts and cheeses rounded off the dining experience.

The pricing? Exceptionally reasonable for the quality and variety offered. This is a paradise for any seafood lover.

As for my partner, who grew up in a fishing family, she didn’t hesitate to give it a resounding 10/10.

Seafood buffet you say?

I’ve been to these before in America and they are usually a thing of despair. But this was everything a seafood lover could dream of!

Fresh shrimp, crabs, oysters, mussels, and other strange shell-things unfamiliar to me yet still delicious!

I’d almost take a star away for not letting my daughter bring in pizza (because: we’re on vacation she gets to eat what she pleases! And she hates the smell of seafood so bribery…) but the staff was so nice, and buffet so promising, that I gave into their rule or local custom and had her eat outside by the river. 😅

I’d give them 6-stars if they’d cater to parental needs and imagine they’d have a few more tables full in the future.

Nonetheless, great meal at a great price!...
