Go and eat somewhere else!

We took the all you can eat option "HOPLA". Included are: Flam’s traditionnelles et créations à volonté + 1 Entrée** ou 1 Dessert (you can look at the menu on the website)

After getting a table in the cellar with no heating (in february!!!) the staff told us, that in this option we had to share one tarte flambee after the other, even if we both ordered the all you can eat option and I am vegetarian und my bf is not. OK... so we shared one after the other and also ordered sweet tartes flambees.

Before we did that, we asked the staff, if the sweet options are also included in the offer "HOPLA". He said yes, but only the small ones and asked us, which one we like to have after the recent one. And so he did every time he brought us the recent tarte flambee. After a while he came to our table and told us that we ate 5 sweet tartes flambees and there are only 2 included, because they count as "Dessert". We have to pay the rest. But in the menu "desserts" and "flams sucrées" are separated and its not obviously that they count as dessert. (look at the menu)

We told him, that we will not pay more than the HOPLA-price because we asked him before and he told us, the sweet options are also included. We payed at the boss and he said we don't have to pay for all the sweet tartes flambees but only for one extra. We didn't want to but did it anyways to avoid conflict and because it was only 5€.

But he didn't stop saying that it was our fault and it clearly wasn't. Honestly this (and the ice cold cellar) ruined our evening there and we will never come back. This behaviour is not client-friendly at all and we won't support...

Go as a couple, but never as a group !

Terrible experience yesterday evening at Flamm's. I used to come regularly but i will not come anymore...

We felt ripped off, maybe because we were a group of 5, and with a group of 5, they brought Flammkuchen one by one, every 20-30 minutes. (While a group of 6 had the right to get 2 flammkuchen each time). Which means that after 2h30 in the restaurant we still had eaten less than 1 flammkuchen per person... other tables came to share theirs with us by pity, when they saw us asking the waiters if they could bring us flammkuchen by 2 rather than by one (refused several time...) was very heartwarming from the other customers, but tells a lot about the mismanagement of the restaurant. We had to leave to drive back home, and paid more for the "unlimited" formula, than what we would have paid for individual flammkuchen... Not that we were not hungry anymore, but the restaurant failed to deliver. A rip off...

The atmosphere : Globally fine but the restaurant was way too warm, we were sweating despite already being the evening. No data/wifi, so the 30min inbetween 2 flammkuchen can feel extremely long when you eat them in less than a min (5 people per flammkuchen). The toilets were in terrible conditions.

Service : Bad, but i don't want to blame the waiters, they are probably not being properly trained and managed. We had to wait 45min in average to get water for example. Waitress failed to inform us of the flammkuchen missing from the menu. So you end up picking a formula, but the 2 most valued items of the formula are actually not part of it anymore...

Food not as WoW but super bad service experience. Firstly, waiter broke the glass with water on my winter coat, and let it soak there. Secondly, the manager brought me (female) to gents and said dry your coat yourselves in gents with hand dryer because that’s the only way you can dry it else you can choose to walk away with your drenched coat. When I requested to have at least a waiter to help, the manager angry at me! So I stood at gents drying my coat with guys peeing nearby! Lastly, I walked to cashier with my half dried coat, the manager gave me frustrated face and after paying full amount, we feedback we had bad service and not enjoying, he just shrugged his shoulder and said something in French, and the queuing guests laughed at us! There is no apology throughout the entire episode and nobody cares you! Frustrated dining experience and super cold night walking under negative degree winter with...

I had a nice lunch: Goat's cheese and honey. It tasted great and sweeter than I expected. It was a bit burnt, at the edges and the base. Personally, I liked that but it may not be everyone's cup of tea. I would suggest going with at least one other person and have the all you can eat option (€13.9)! Even if you have 1.5 flaamekueche each, it's worth the price. They charge for left overs (which is great). They have a French, German and English menu. the staff speak English and French. They were friendly and prompt. They accept card and cash. The ambience was not great, with not much space between tables; so if it's crowded, you may not get nice seating. I would recommend reserving in advance, if you're in a group.

The food was delicious and the prices are totally fine. The tarts flambée was fresh, warm and had a light dough with crispy edges. The only complaint here is that there was only one vegetarian option. The "all you can eat" seem like a great option (especially considering the price) but as a vegetarian it's sadly not an option. The service was friendly, quick and attentive 😄 My biggest "complain" are the toilets. They were honestly disgusting. Only one stall was open, the floor was sticky and the toilet was super dirty. The restaurant itself was charming but very small. If you're really sensitive to noise that might be a little difficult. I'd advice to give the restaurant a try but use a toilet somewhere else ⭐️

Had such a good time here!. We went for lunch and it was a bit crowded so we had to wait, it’s a bit of a walk away from the cathedral. The service was so kind! Lovely and helpful. We ordered red wine ( Pinto noir) and iced tea for drinks, both were good. We tried the Caesar salad which was light a delicious, and spätzle with smoked bacon, it was very cheesy and rich, definitely a favourite here, it also comes with its own salad. We tried 2 times of “flams”, both were very good, they also have nice vegetarian options available. The price is decent and the quantity is apt and filling. The dessert flam was not anything special, wouldn’t get it again. Overall a fun experience !
