Located in the basement of the Rohan Palace, it showcases a diverse collection of artifacts from the Alsace region, spanning from prehistoric times to the early Middle Ages.

Displayed items include ancient Roman city of Argentoratum and various archaeological sites items. The museum provides a comprehensive overview of the region's rich history, making it educational and very engaging.

With this in mind , the museum could largely benefit from improved signage and interactive displays...

The information board touches on the Neanderthal's who lived in the region, but unfortunately, there are no artifacts displayed. The muesum also has a large collection of Roman artifacts from the area. The information boards that explain the collections in each room are in French, German, and English. Individual display descriptions are in French, so have your translator app ready if you cannot...
