Jabiru Café — Restaurant in Strasbourg

I absolutely loved it. The food and the way it is presented is amazing. When there was a little misunderstanding with the order they were extremely generous they gave us the wrong food (which wasn't much different from the original order) and even though we were absolutely fine with it they let us have the right food and the beverages for free. And we also got a free Espresso after our meal that tasted very special and kind of fruity which fitted perfectly on top of the african food. Hate to give bad reviews but the food safety is an issue. Today we had early dinner here, left at 8pm. Before 9pm, my friend had severe diarrhea. I am not sure if the tap water had problem, or the chicken dish he had. I really hope it’s not the food here but the effect was rather immediate… Otherwise the food tasted nice and comfy. The bobotie was sweet(for me a bit too imbalanced on the sweet side, if it’s more sour from chutney would be more interesting) the chicken mafe was heavy on peanut note(I guess it’s typical for west Africa) and tasty as we like...

Food is really nice. Drinks too. If I lived closer I would come here more often. Unfortunately the waiter has anger issues and was very rude from the beginning. Because we didnt know that we had to be placed and just sat down. (Different cultures and kanguage barrier) We thought he made a sarcastic joke. But it became worse in the end and he became very very rude, unprofessional and sassy instead of solving it professionally.
