Ha Long Bay Restaurant — Restaurant in Thonon-les-Bains

I have suggested this restaurant’s opening dinner hours from 7pm to 8:15pm, from others’ Google and TripAdvisor reviews and lunch from 12pm to 1:20pm, based on my experience with the xenophobic Asian manager. How can a restaurant only be open 1 hour 15 min for dinner? It’s clearly BS and racism.

Fact 1: The racist, little, rude manager turned me away twice in 2 days, when people inside had not ordered yet. “We close at 1:30,” it was 1:20. Other Tripadvisor reviews said the restaurant closed at 2. It wasn’t close to closing as people were just sitting down.

Fact 2: Last night as well: turned away in the same brusque way. People were still looking at their menus. Read the review on Tripadvisor of the Middle Eastern visitor who was turned away at 8:15pm when it “closed,” who ate at a restaurant next door and even after 2 hours, was open.

Because I was turned away today, I spent an hour in the cold waiting for the ferry. This restaurant should be removed from Google maps and have the police pay a visit.

We had a reservation for 7pm. Already on the phone, the woman who took the reservation was rude and curt but we let it go thinking she could have been in the middle of something. We arrived 15mins early because we had a baby with us and figured at worst, we would just sit for a while until 7pm. We entered the restaurant just to let them know we were there and would wait and before we could even explain- this woman starts SCREAMING at us, like she is crazy! Telling us her employees need to eat and we arent welcome there until 7pm.

It was insane, because we would have been happy to just have a drink across the street, of course we understand the employees need to eat- it was just a common courtesy to let her know.

She was rude! Aggressive and absolutely out of her mind! We canceled our reservation then and there as i would NEVER want to go to any place that treated clients like this- and screaming at us in front of a baby! Who was very frightened! It was surreal.

I certainly wouldn't recommend this place to anyone- i have never seen a restaurant treat any potential...

we went to this restaurant. the woman who seated us only understood french. we waited about 15 mins (with only 3 tables occupied...15 max). The owner came and asked what we wanted (there is no english menu, only french). we ordered 1 main course , one side dish of noodles and 1 beer. she dutifully brought the beer, and after i had started it, came back to the table and shouted at us saying I only ordered for one person ( main and side). I tried explaining but she intimated (i dont speak too much french) that she had a restaurant to run amd we werent ordering enough for us both to sit. with that, i paid for my beer and left. i am 60 years old and i havent been speaken like that since i was receiving school dinner
