Went here on my last night in morzine and ordered the gluten free pizza which is additional âŹ2.50 extra. My two friends also ordered non gluten free pizzaâs. When the pizzaâs arrived, my order was incorrect as it didnât have the chicken I asked for on and had salad on the pizza which I did not ask for. ( had to pay extra âŹ2.00 for chicken on my pizza even though I ordered the carnivore?) They brought out another pizza 15 mins later and it was now the correct pizza but it was again a lot lot smaller than my friends pizzaâs. Very very thin base and not very big in circumference. My friends pizzas were nearly over hanging the plates and mine was disappointingly small. I left still feeling very hungry and had to make more food at my apartment. Tried to speak to the people behind the bar about the issues and they said it is just the size of the pizza and muttered in French and walked away. I would suggest explaining to your customers before hand about the size of the pizza so they are not left disappointed and hungry and can perhaps order some chips to go along side, if they are done in a gluten free...
Read moreMy wife and I visited two years ago and enjoyed this restaurant so much that we booked a table for our friend's birthday this time. Unfortunately, our experience wasn't as nice. While everything started well -- the French onion soup was delicious -- the slow and somewhat rude service overshadowed all the positives and our dinner ended in a spoiled surprise. We ordered two Pierre Chaudes. The minimum for this specialty is two persons, but we received one grill when ordering for four people. This resulted in a long waiting time for our meats to cook. The grill didn't work well and there were no extra utensils to avoid cross contamination. It looked and felt messy. The worst part was the restaurant forgot to serve a surprise cake at the end for our friend. I asked once when we arrived if they could do it and reminded them again before receiving our dinner. When you spend 400 at a restaurant, you expect things to go well from start to finish. Restaurant la Rotonde failed. I wouldn't recommended...
Read moreOk so perhaps my review was affected by the droves of family bookings during the Easter week however despite the decent quality food we found it hard to enjoy our experience. I really think that the restaurantâs decision to fill the conservatory area with as much seating as possible only served to exacerbate the discomfort experienced by being placed in such close proximity to other diners (and screaming kids). This seems to be a managerial decision ostensibly to allow them to simply seat more patrons so they can make more money during one of the busiest weeks of the year. It doesnât translate to a good dining experience though, even the hard working staff had difficulty squeezing down the rows of tables to serve drinks and foods. Whilst the food arrived pretty quickly given the volume of people, I do think the quality suffered as a result. Would like to go back at a quieter time to see what the place...
