Short version: highly recommend! If you enjoy dining, this is a place you have to experience. Long version: I got SUPER lucky to come across this restaurant. I was visiting Toulouse for a few weeks and I already had a huge list of restaurants to visit.. This was not one of them but I happened to be staying nearby and one evening I thought I’ll check it out. Turned out to be the best food I had in Toulouse, by far! Mich better than most expensive high end restaurants in the area.
The most intelligent cooking I’ve experienced. If you are looking for elegant, imaginative, but also comforting food, look no further. The dishes are very well thought, they are fun, and playful and oh so very comforting all at the same time. Also, masterfully executed. Everything cooked to perfection from a technical point of view. What else could someone ask for?
I have now visited twice. The first time I tried an aubergine and Parmesan madeleine starter that I still can’t get out of my head. Main was beef with pear and a dreamy herb de province jus. In my second visit I tried beef tartar with feta (yes, I was skeptical too, but it really worked!) and as a main I had the most dreamy melt -in-your-mouth fish with asparagus risotto that I’m sure I won’t forget any time soon. Finally the desert was an excellent creation involving turnip (!), passion fruit, mango and turmeric sablet that absolutely blew my mind. It was a magnificent experience.
Wine: As I visited solo I didn’t try the bottles so I can’t comment. The wines by the glass were really lovely, but as a wine obsessed person, personally I think the chef could work with a sommelier to create specific wine-food pairings that can elevate the experience even more.
Overall, great experience and I highly recommend this place. Great value. I will most certainly be...
Read moreas a solo traveler from nyc, i reserved the chefs table sitting right next to the kitchen which i recommend especially if you’re alone! you can witness how they run the night. the staff is friendly and many speak english (and also are patient with my foreigner intermediate french). they accommodate allergens.
i was nervous that the menus might be a lot for one person, but it well portioned well paced, and well made, i simply took my time savoring each delicious moment the french way :-) chef yoren and the whole staff made me feel like VIP.
they present french cuisine with creative and vibrant twists using seasonal and local ingredients. they have reason to be proud of their work, not just in what comes out of the kitchen but also with all the heart that clearly goes into it. thank you yoren and team for an unforgettable evening!! 🍄🟫💙 bisous...
Read moreI had an exquisite dinner at Terra Tolosa, thanks to the amazing service and even more extraordinary dishes prepared by the chef. We chose the menu with 3 dishes, and each one surprised us with incredible flavours. I particularly liked the ravioli, which had a spectacular goat cheese filling. I do recommend it if you still find it on the menu. The only flaw I could find was the interiors of the restaurant, which felt a bit bland and less curated in the details compared to the rest. For example, some tables were too close to each other and I would have preferred a tablecloth instead of nothing. However these minor things didn’t...
