If you’re a foreigner or don’t speak Georgian/Russian, I would recommend to not bother visiting this place. I don’t bother writing bad reviews ever, but this was terrible. I have been in Georgia for weeks now and visiting and enjoying eating at random small eateries, but never have I had such a horrible experience. We ordered two plates of khinkhali (mushroom and potatoes) and 2 drinks—a very standard order. The plates of khinkali arrived after 35 mins (no drinks yet). I asked if one of the plates has mushroom and the waiter said it’s not mushroom, it is meat. I don’t eat meat so I asked for the right order. Cut to it being 1 hour and 5 minutes later since we placed the order, and we still had not received our drinks or the correct plate of khinkali despite asking the waiters many times. We went up to the reception to ask for an update and they were very ignorant and just on their phone not even bothering to talk. One waiter finally come to the table and just pointed at the existing plate and said it’s mushroom. I mentioned it’s been more than half an hour since the previous waiter said it’s not mushroom, it’s meat, but she didn’t seem to care. They just wanted me to eat the cold khinkali after making me wait for an hour. We said our drinks hadn’t arrived yet either and the food is cold so we were going to leave and they came with the drinks and wanted to charge us for the whole thing. It was very rude and we had to pay for a plate of cold mushroom/meat khinkali we didn’t eat and two drinks that came after an hour. Many, many locals came, ate, and left in the time we didn’t even...
Read moreI highly recommend against this place, which is a shame because as a Pascal guidebook find I had high expectations for it. Upon entering the restaurant we felt ignored by the staff, who seemed to be making a concerted effort not to make eye contact and passed us by without a word. So we took the first available seats. For 10 minutes we waited for someone to bring us a menu, but that did not happen. We asked the waitress for the menu and received an "ok" in response. More minutes passed as the waitress stood with her head in her hands, looking at her phone and hiding behind a wall. After asking three times, the waitress who was on the phone sent a younger waitress to bring us the menu. The waitress seemed offended and only spoke Georgian (we had to use Google Translate). We were told that the wait time was 2 hours, which would have been normal if all the tables didn't already have food and the restaurant wasn't relatively small. I wonder if this attitude is due to the general ignorance of the staff, a negative attitude towards foreigners, or a dislike of Russians by Georgians (as a Pole who speaks Polish, I have been asked if I am from Russia), which is offensive to me as a Pole who supports Ukraine and has hosted a Ukrainian woman fleeing Russian persecution in my apartment. There are many better restaurants in Kutaisi; don't waste your...
Read morePlace to absolutely avoid! We saw the reviews but decided to step by on the way due to limited time. That was a mistake. The service is terrible and the staff is totally uninterested in doing their job. We ordered some food plus drinks for two, nothing big or special. The food arrived at reasonable time (around 10 minutes) but regarding the drinks, they were served way after we finished eating and actually thinking about asking for the bill and leave. The most disappointing of them all was when asking for the bill, firstly, the waiter told us the total (22 GEL) which according to the order was more than it was supposed to be. Then, when asked for the receipt, he brought us a receipt with just a total which was again 22 GEL. However, when we took the menu and checked the prices and calculated our order again, it was 19 GEL. We showed it to the waiter and when finally got the detailed receipt, it turned out that they doubled one of the items. Then after a bit of back and forth, we paided what was the actual price of our order (19 GEL). No sorry or any other reaction. Taking into account that the place was full of foreign tourists, I guess this may be a part of their business strategy (add sth to the bill as they will not pay attention anyway). Shame. In terms of food, it was totally average. You can definitely find a better dining...
