Very tasty and big dishes
Update: Visited this place first time on a business trip dinner with colleagues and didn’t notice some serious flaws this place has, and just left positive review as the owner kindly asked about it. I did really liked the food and portion.
But second time I visited it with my friend. And noticed that prices are too high in general. I ordered 2 butter paneer accidentally, instead of butter chicken as the last time. Waiter proposed to change dishes to 2 butter chicken but charge for 1 butter paneer also for cooking it. But I’m honestly think 30 lari is too much for few peaces of cheese. Because sauce most likely wasn’t changed and they just added chicken in there. And chicken wasn’t as good as my first time.
Rice was good, ngl and curry sauce too.
I also ordered sweet lassi, same as my first time and it had weird taste this time.
So it was two dishes with rice and 2 lassi. And charge for 1 butter paneer. Totally 160 lari. I was flabbergasted by its price but didn’t want to argue in front of a friend and just left.
Then I found menu online, calculated and it turned out I was charged more than menu price. I went back other day and was told it’s service fee 10% that they are adding. I think it’s not very halal to do those charges without informing first or putting somewhere notice about it like in the menu.
They proposed to do a discount if I make another order there but I had no mood to sit there again.
Also street barkers are very annoying and just make you want to...
Read moreI recently visited Al Madina Restaurant with my wife, and we had a lovely experience overall. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made us feel right at home. The highlight of our meal was definitely the Chicken Tikka Biryani — hands down one of the best I’ve ever had! The chicken was moist, packed with flavor, and perfectly cooked. I highly recommend trying any dish that includes their chicken tikka, as they’ve clearly mastered it.
We also enjoyed the vegetable samosas, which were delicious and crispy. However, they were served with ketchup instead of chutney or a traditional Indian sauce, which was a bit unexpected — perhaps it’s a local twist. The garlic naan was ok, and my wife enjoyed her butter chicken, though it could have used more spice for added flavor (we requested zero spice, so that’s on us).
Unfortunately, the banana lassi was not good at all. I ordered it because the mango lassi was unavailable, but it just wasn’t to my taste — I wouldn’t recommend it.
The atmosphere is cozy but a bit outdated, and I’d suggest adding some light background music to create a livelier vibe. Also, just a heads-up for diners — there’s a 10% service fee included in the bill, which is fine but something to be aware of.
Overall, a great spot for Indian food lovers, especially if you’re ordering anything with chicken tikka. We’ll...
Read moreAwful experience. Me and my husband choose this place because high rating of 4,8 stars in Google and I want to eat Indian food. The place is totally empty cellar, accompanied by a strong smell of mold and dampness. Cellar itself is besutiful. We stay because it is 23:00 o’clock and we are starving. There is no kitchen in the cellar and a bit unfriendly waiter/staff (without a proper staff clothing, wearing a leather jacket?) takes our order and springs up the stairs and disappear. We wonder what is going on, from where will our meals be brought from? After a while we get what we ordered. Sallad is very nice, paneer and butter chicken as well. But the rice is molded and not warm enough. We order two water, we get two bottles - no question of what kind of water, and no glasses. While we sit so this young man comes and out on some horrible music on with a high volyme. My husband hates that and just go and pick out the electric wire. At least can we enjoy of the quietness and discuss. The atmosphere will be no better when other young men come near to cellar and ask thousend times if the food was good and could we write something nice about the place in Google. Yes, the best thing in the restaurant was beautiful Koi fishes in a tank. DO...
