From our experience this place is very overrated and the service overall was poor.
When we reserved they asked if it was a special occasion, so we informed them it was for a birthday - there was no acknowledgement of this during our visit so not sure why they even asked.
We ordered starters, but the staff literally started taking our plates/food away when we were mid way through eating them because the mains were ready too soon after serving the starters. Because of this poor communication with the kitchen, when we were ready for our mains they were already cold. The food itself was of decent quality but not significantly better than the abundance of great, more affordable, Georgian restaurants around the city.
After the mains, we asked for dessert menus (which we never received) - instead they brought out 2 complimentary cheesecake slices for 5 of us to share because they sensed we were dissatisfied. We would have preferred to see the menu to choose for ourselves, as we all would have liked desserts and coffees too. It felt like we were being rushed out the door by this stage.
There were other small details we could list in addition, but overall it was a bad experience in a restaurant which we were very excited to try -...
Read moreThis is my first review for a restaurant. I feel like I must leave one. We had originally come for drinks. After waiting for quite some time, we were approached by our host Tata who profusely and sincerely apologized in excellent English for the wait time and insisted that drinks would be on the house. Honestly, the saxophonist playing live music behind us, ambience was so lovely we barely noticed that it was late. Not only that, she brought us a bowl of wonderfully delicious burgundy and forest green olives followed by one of their deserts: Basque cheesecake with halva and tahini-cherry sauce. What a synthesis of internationally unique flavors. It is difficult to marry such distant cultures in such a tasteful combination. Simple and sophisticated all at once in the best way possible. Our lovely host, Tata provided a world class hospitality to a point that made us feel absolutely welcome and appreciated. What an amazing find in charming...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place. The space is beautiful and waiters are very well-mannered and nice. So I was very excited to visit for a breakfast and ordered my go-to morning meal - salmon Benedict’s.
I was quite upset to realize that the meal is actually pretty small, with only one egg, thin pieces of salmon and just didn’t taste much like anything, felt more like a quick bite. I didn’t appreciate the choice to put it on the waffle as well, as waffle also didn’t have much taste. Unfortunately the whole meal was too tiny and plain.
I’d definitely not recommend it for breakfast, but probably they offer nicer dinners. Maybe I’ll give it a chance for dinner someday, but not very encouraged after the breakfast experience.
The place itself is stunning and peaceful, so I will leave some stars...
